HBO has announced that legendary “Goodfellas” director Martin Scorsese is set to direct a documentary about the former president of the United States, Bill Clinton. They have also revealed that the project will have the Democrat’s full input.

In a statement, Scorsese, who most recently directed "Hugo" and "Shutter Island," described Clinton as "A towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world," and added "Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure.”

Clinton has said "I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film." He hasn’t been president since January 2001, but Clinton is still popular with the public. In July, Gallup measured Clinton’s favorability rating at 66%, and discovered that he is popular across almost all segments of the American public. Are you planning to see Martin Scorsese’s documentary about Bill Clinton?

But Bill's a different story. He did his job better than any other president in my lifetime.

Grammar, there's a youtube video you need to watch about Clinton in his earlier days. That video tells a lot about the real character of this man. That's why I don't have any respect for him.

In all honesty, I think most documentaries tend to be one-sided and don't necessarily accurately recount events.

He is a brilliant man, but all too human, I want to see what Clinton allows to be documented and if it goes deep enough into corruption, power, and career blackmail by big business (corporations are our friends)..

he had the dot com boom, nothing to do with him. It was more of a play on what Clinton said about the military to get out of serving "I loathe the military" as he said. I don't like him, he's a pompous old fool running around begging for attention.

    I see.
I agree that he is pompous & he's always been a philanderer.
But he sure as hell did a good job working with Congress, building solid diplomatic relationships, balancing the budget, cutting spending, reducing government & ensuring there were loads of jobs to go around.

Had it not been for the dot com boom, that he had nothing to do with, his legacy would be much different.

Please detail his cutting spending and ensuring the loads of jobs.

Spending under Clinton was 19.8% of GDP (Bush 40% & Obama 24.9%).
Our unemployment rate under Clinton was the lowest since Eisenhower at 4% (& created 22.5 million jobs).

spending under Clinton was thanks to the Republican congress. Unemployment thanks to the dot com boom. Yea so. 40% of GDP under Bush LOL
  • Grammar... andy15554 2013/01/10 20:54:05

So... the spending going on now is somehow Obama's fault while the spending under Clinton was the Republican Congress'??
    Huh?

Sure, the dot com boom was going on, & it certainly contributed, but the numbers went down throughout his terms... it was definitely not 100% dot com boom.
