Mariah Carey didn't need Jimmy Fallon’s help to make her Christmas song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” a major hit. The track from her 1994 holiday album “Merry Christmas” is one of the best-selling singles of all time and Rolling Stone magazine included it on their list of The Greatest Rock & Roll Christmas Songs.

But on Tuesday night, Carey made a surprise appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and all but guaranteed that the song would go down as one of the most beloved X-mas classics of all time.

As they did last summer with Carly Rae Jepsen on her hit “Call Me Maybe,” the late -night host and his in-house band joined Carey on a special rendition of the song. Playing only instruments that could be found in a classroom, Mariah, Jimmy, The Roots and a handful of adorable kids belted out the holiday tune with xylophones and kazoos in hand. The performance was packed with all the joy that the season promises.

The Carey-Fallon collaboration is sure to go down in the books alongside Bing Crosby and David Bowie’s revered “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy” duet from a 1977 TV special. What do you think? Is it an instant Christmas classic?

I couldn't stop smiling when I watched this video. I loved the kids poping up and singing back up for her. I already loved this song, so in my eyes it was already one of the greatest X-mas songs song thus far. I put it right up there with The Jackson Five's Santa Claus is coming to town, and Mahalia Jacksons Silent Night. Perfection.

i think she is very conceded the fame has gone to her head she always wants to be the canter of attention (like when she was so mad that she hung up the phone when she found out nicki minaj was going to be on american idol, she wanted to be the only girl) and when she dissed eminem it just made me hate her more. you like eminem and mariah carey? 0_o eminems biggest fans stick on his side no matter what, 80% of his fans hate mariah, you may be a fan but if you like mariah i doubt youre one of his biggest fans. and as for hating her...think of the thousands of not millions that hate hitler or osama bin laden they have never met them. i know its not the same at all and no she did not cause nearly as much pain as those 2 did but still they dont know of there existance.
