Mariah Carey didn't need Jimmy Fallon’s help to make her Christmas song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” a major hit. The track from her 1994 holiday album “Merry Christmas” is one of the best-selling singles of all time and Rolling Stone magazine included it on their list of The Greatest Rock & Roll Christmas Songs.
But on Tuesday night, Carey made a surprise appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and all but guaranteed that the song would go down as one of the most beloved X-mas classics of all time.
As they did last summer with Carly Rae Jepsen on her hit “Call Me Maybe,” the late -night host and his in-house band joined Carey on a special rendition of the song. Playing only instruments that could be found in a classroom, Mariah, Jimmy, The Roots and a handful of adorable kids belted out the holiday tune with xylophones and kazoos in hand. The performance was packed with all the joy that the season promises.

The Carey-Fallon collaboration is sure to go down in the books alongside Bing Crosby and David Bowie’s revered “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy” duet from a 1977 TV special. What do you think? Is it an instant Christmas classic?

Green is a color 2012/12/05 20:11:47No+4It was cute and all..But what would make it a classic..or even as good as Bing Crosby and David Bowie duet?

It might be too colorful for the Sodacon crowd.
It's like he learned his facial expressions from kids who think they are being cute but aren't.
I have always enjoyed Mariah Carey's music.
She is a cutie : )
And how can you even begin to compare Mariah Carey and Jimmy Fallon to Bing Crosby and David Bowie? That's bad beyond words.
