Well in a way some of this is true I have two brothers of mine who are still in the service with over 20 years each. One is an E8 and the other is a E9,due to retire next year.

They have both told me stories several times about violence in the military and most were not from some muslim but rather from your typical service person who was fed up with the military and they lashed out on it.

I was in vietnam and from my own personal experience I saw fights on a common basis from people being fed up with the military, the military has always had that phrase, you don't have to like it but you still have to do it. that's the way it's always been and probably will be.

The military doesn't want cry babies that moan and grown about everything and most of all they don't want individuals, they want team players that knows it pays to be a winner.

I think the big problem is a lot of people go in the service and they have no idea what to expect, when they are young they hear all these stories about they'll turn you into a lean mean fighting machine and all the foreign places you can visit, 3 hot meals a day, free medical and dental...oh yeah how sweet it is!!

But then when they enlist and leave that reception station and take that bus ride and get off and that crazy senior drill sgt and the rest of his sgt's are waiting for you, you get a wake up call and realize, oh shit what did I get myself into? I know I did when I went to Fort Benning Ga for Basic/AIT.

All I can tell you is if you have soft skin and don't like having someone up in your face or being dropped to knock out 50 pushups then you better not sign up. If you are E4 and below especially, once you reach E5 and above things start to to mellow out a little.
