It was just a matter of time before somebody completely ate it during a dance routine on "Dancing With the Stars." But a professional dancer? Say it isn't so!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley took a tumble last night during their rumba -- but there's confusion as to whose fault the fall was.

Maksim says the blame is completely on him. According to the pro dancer, his “thigh gave out” and the fall "had nothing to do” with his partner.

But is he just saying that so that he and Kirstie don't get the boot?

It was nobodies fault. His thigh got hurt.

I knew it, last night, that people were going to further insult her, for her weight.

This is so sad.

How much more can people pick on this woman? And for what? Being like the average American? --overweight? --The hypocrites!

He even said it..he had a thigh muscle spasm. He's strong. He could have done that move with a heavier woman, too, cuz he's a professional.

I played it forward and back over 18 times and in slow motion he put his leg/foot in the wrong place had nothing to do with her she was on her mark and it almost looks like he did it on purpose.

Might have been his fault. Love Kirstie . . . it really takes a lot of guts to put herself out there like that. She know's how the press works with her. It's all about her weight. Too bad. She has lost quite a bit of weight and the costumes are very flattering. Her hair has always been gorgeous. I don't watch the show, but may just so I can vote for her!

I cannot say because I don't watch DWTS. I watched it the first and second season, but I tired of it because I thought some of the judges were overly critical and biased. Also, I found some of the guest dancers too desperate, especially the has-beens that are trying to revive their careers.

Really, it is no one's fault. They made a mistake. The only thing that matters is that both were not seriously injured and could continue on with the dancing competition.

She could have been a twig, and that would still be a stress on the muscle. It happens. It's his fault, but that happens even at the top tier of a craft.

They are partners, there is no fault. I think if Maks says his leg gave out then his leg gave out.. I wish them good luck, partners protect one another.

I was watching it closely when it happened live - maxims leg failed not hers she kept on dancing - and he limped for a bit but came back to finish - it was a great recovery for both of them

I don't watch DWTS but I also love Kirstie. She was also in "Cheers" where she play a waitress. A few years ago she starred in the TV show,"Veronica's Closet," where she played a lingerie designer.

She is so beautiful no matter. She has lost quite a bit of weight and her costumes are stunningly flattering. Maksim is a very classy guy. My level of respect for him has gone up a great deal (and I don't even watch the show!). I'm going to watch now to see how it goes for her!

You could tell it was his fault. I love Kristie Alley, but she is a large gal. He simply couldn't support her weight, and yes his thigh did give out.

Oh please. Kirstie is the size of a baby beluga. Yeah Maksim's thigh gave out. He's lucky his spine didn't give out. Stop being nice or PC, Kirstie is huge. She doesn't have an illness, she eats too much and doesn't exercise. No excuse. No reason to spare her feelings.
