You might want to keep your top on from now on, Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are furious at a French magazine that published paparazzi photographs of Kate sunbathing topless in France.
Slamming Closer magazine for publishing the pics, the couple's office said Friday that "their royal highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and unjustifiable manner," The New York Times reports.
In the images, Kate was sunbathing at a villa in Provence (where sunbathing topless is de rigueur). But, the royal couple truly believed that nobody was watching them. "Their royal highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them. Officials acting on behalf of their royal highnesses are consulting with lawyers to consider what options may be available to the Duke and Duchess," the statement continued.
This is only the latest embarrassment for the royal family. Last month, various media outlets published photographs of Kate's brother-in-law, Prince Harry, partying naked in Las Vegas.
Well, the moral of the story is, if you're as famous as Kate Middleton, you're better off keeping your bikini top on! From Kate's topless pics to Prince Harry's various photo ops, click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the biggest British royal family scandal?

Kate is the epitome of class, something the Royal family desperately needs. They are nothing but a bunch of useless welfare recipients who are no smarter than any other citizen of Great Britain. They add no value to country, cost too much, and do nothing other than feed the fantasy of little girls and weak minded people who feel the need to hold onto monarchy for nostalgic reasons.
Now, not all of the Royal family are idiots, spoiled brats and ner'-do-wells. But they do seem to have their fair share of them. Bringing class into that inbred community is something they desperately needed. They should protect Kate with all of their might because, as far I can see, since Diana's death, there has been little class in that family.
I have to say this; when you are in the position that Kate is in, you must understand that during every second of every day of your there is someone out there waiting to get a picture or a recording or a story about you so they can earn a buck. When you're famous, you very little privacy.
When I hear the term "Welfare Queen," guess where my mind goes? Yep, right the person occupying the palace. How much more good could that country be doing with their money, especially since the rest of the country is forced into austerity and double dip recession?
That is by far the most vile and gross scandal ever with that family.
Kate being topless at a private estate and being photographed with a long lens-not such a big deal, Euros are ok with that.
i love the royals, I love that they have endured for 600 plus years in a nearly singular family line. I love the ceremony of them and the continuity and the comfort of ongoing lineage that provides a sure and steady rudder on the tempest tossed seas of international relations.
They may be dysfunctional, and they may be entirely human, but dang it!!! They ARE the Royal Family and since I am about 1/6th English, they are part and parcel of the fabric of my history.
And they generate billions and billions of dollars a year in revenue for England, so they are useful.
I have better stories of my Indian Granny, SHE was pure hell, beat an aunt with an iron cord, chopped part of my uncles foot off for DARING to step on her dress hem, etc.
Ancestors can be funny people
Diana, in my opinion, was targeted to "be gone", and did not deserve it. I can only hope that one day, maybe good ol' Prince Harry will get to the bottom of her senseless death.
What kid is going to believe their family capable, much less responsible for murdering their mother. Time will tell.
Di had no where to turn, not even her brother would help her, but then he had the nerve to try to get into the mix during the funeral.
Charles finally did get to be with Camilla. The relationship between him and his mother.... almost every photo I've seen where their eyes meet looks like she still remembers the pain of giving birth and still resents the hell out of him for it.
2) It's possible that they are using the approach of "keep your friends close and your enemies closer... until they can put together solid proof.
