You've heard the jokes about the Brits having bad teeth. You've also seen countless pictures of Kate Middleton flashing her perfect choppers. Well, a new magazine cover isn't quite so kind to the Duchess of Cambridge.
For its issue about the future of Britain, The New Republic photoshopped Prince William's bride to look like she has yellow, decaying teeth. Kate Middleton stands in front of a shabby British flag under the headline: "Something's Rotten. The Last Days of Britain."

Many commenters were outraged by the "disrespectful" cover, which might have alluded a bit to the fact that Kate Middleton has reportedly had some work done on her teeth. That said, it's a pretty clever idea for a magazine cover. But did The New Republic go too far?

Almost everyone in Britain has had work done to their teeth. Its called the NHS (National Health Service) and includes the Dentist. If you are under 16 its even free to have cosmetic things done to your teeth never mind what's actually necessary. And by the way Who cares?
The comment about the magazine article alluding to her having had some work done to her teeth is ridiculous. Most people have had work done to their teeth and we all have to take care of our teeth. Do we now criticize people who are not born with perfect pearly whites all in a straight row?
But it's not like she really has bad teeth...
They are all goofy looking.
So far I have not seen or heard ANYTHING that makes me think that Kate is anything but a gracious lady.
As for UK vs US healthcare, the UK has a lower rate of infant mortality than the US AND a longer life expectancy than the US. Contrary to what the GOP would have you believe, the US does NOT have the best healthcare in the world.
I've seen worse.
I think that I like Helena Bonham Carter did it better ;-)
