Magazine Cover Reveals Kate Middleton's 'Bad Teeth': Funny or Out of Line?

You've heard the jokes about the Brits having bad teeth. You've also seen countless pictures of Kate Middleton flashing her perfect choppers. Well, a new magazine cover isn't quite so kind to the Duchess of Cambridge.

For its issue about the future of Britain, The New Republic photoshopped Prince William's bride to look like she has yellow, decaying teeth. Kate Middleton stands in front of a shabby British flag under the headline: "Something's Rotten. The Last Days of Britain."

Many commenters were outraged by the "disrespectful" cover, which might have alluded a bit to the fact that Kate Middleton has reportedly had some work done on her teeth. That said, it's a pretty clever idea for a magazine cover. But did The New Republic go too far?

They obviously can't find anything "real" to demean her, so they've created it themselves ... desperate for a joke?

They kind of made it obvious that it's photoshop. Besides, we all know she's gorgeous and probably doesn't care anyways!

It is a little out-of-line, but I think it was also photoshopped most likely.

If you are familiar with British humour it's very dry. At the end of the day she's a Royal married to one of the richest men in the world. Do you really think she cares about what a silly reporter has to say? Probably not.

Where is the humor in tearing people down, or making light of others shortcomings? If she has bad teeth, that just proves two things, 1) her husband loves her unconditionally and 2) regradless to your achievements and beauty, we all have flaws!

Many commenters were outraged by the "disrespectful" cover, which might have alluded a bit to the fact that Kate Middleton has reportedly had some work done on her teeth.

Almost everyone in Britain has had work done to their teeth. Its called the NHS (National Health Service) and includes the Dentist. If you are under 16 its even free to have cosmetic things done to your teeth never mind what's actually necessary. And by the way Who cares?

It's a cheap shot and since everyone knows her teeth don't actually look like that it just makes the magazine look bad.

The comment about the magazine article alluding to her having had some work done to her teeth is ridiculous. Most people have had work done to their teeth and we all have to take care of our teeth. Do we now criticize people who are not born with perfect pearly whites all in a straight row?

The headline is even worse then the pic in a sense. It's not funny. If this was meant to be funny they would say something along the lines of Brits having bad teeth so why should she be perfect, or something. Something funny.

The obsession with Brittish Royalty is really lame. Kate Middleton seems very attractive and doesn't do anything to engender such spite.

It may be satire but couldn't The New Republic not found someone more deserving of the attack? Like her sister, Pippa.

So far I have not seen or heard ANYTHING that makes me think that Kate is anything but a gracious lady.

It is what it is.... everyone in England has bad teeth... a result of socialized medicine... Well.. everyone except the wealthy who can afford private health care... ... ... another 20 years, and everyone in the US will also have bad teeth~!

    What utter, bigotted rubbish!!

As for UK vs US healthcare, the UK has a lower rate of infant mortality than the US AND a longer life expectancy than the US. Contrary to what the GOP would have you believe, the US does NOT have the best healthcare in the world.

Quit being so sensitive everyone! I'm sure Kate isn't pissed off. Everyone knows it's not a real photo. How is airbrushing to make someone MORE attractive ok but making somone look LESS attractive with photoshop isn't ok??
