You've heard the jokes about the Brits having bad teeth. You've also seen countless pictures of Kate Middleton flashing her perfect choppers. Well, a new magazine cover isn't quite so kind to the Duchess of Cambridge.
For its issue about the future of Britain, The New Republic photoshopped Prince William's bride to look like she has yellow, decaying teeth. Kate Middleton stands in front of a shabby British flag under the headline: "Something's Rotten. The Last Days of Britain."

Many commenters were outraged by the "disrespectful" cover, which might have alluded a bit to the fact that Kate Middleton has reportedly had some work done on her teeth. That said, it's a pretty clever idea for a magazine cover. But did The New Republic go too far?

Golden Globes? I'm out of the loop on most celebrity gossip (and I generally like it that way)....but maybe I just already forgot about it....(which would inadvertently prove my point.....ha, that is kinda funny).
I'm talking about Ricky Gervais, a British comedian hosting the Golden Globes. He made jokes about celebrities, and anarchy came as a consequence of it. There were only a few (Brad Pitt, Neeson and DeNiro) I think, who took it on the chin. Their fans and viewers were the ones who were incensed by it and there was even more complaints when he said he was going to host next years : P
America is next. And then us over here in Australia.
Not even The Doctor can find this amusing. Maybe he's scared of the Prince and the wolf gene...
But what really makes me angry is the way some Brits responded. I read the article on YahooNews.
A Mirror reader wrote: "Now how would Americans like it if our political magazines featured obese burger-munching Americans on its front cover? They'd be the first to complain."
Ugh.
They were saying that they would never poke fun of a country in such a degrading way, even though this newspaper was clearly happy to.
I don't know, maybe I understood it differently, that's just how I see it. And as someone who travels to England almost every fortnight, plenty of them are straight out insulted about their teeth by Americans and others.
