You've heard the jokes about the Brits having bad teeth. You've also seen countless pictures of Kate Middleton flashing her perfect choppers. Well, a new magazine cover isn't quite so kind to the Duchess of Cambridge.

For its issue about the future of Britain, The New Republic photoshopped Prince William's bride to look like she has yellow, decaying teeth. Kate Middleton stands in front of a shabby British flag under the headline: "Something's Rotten. The Last Days of Britain."

Many commenters were outraged by the "disrespectful" cover, which might have alluded a bit to the fact that Kate Middleton has reportedly had some work done on her teeth. That said, it's a pretty clever idea for a magazine cover. But did The New Republic go too far?

I don't really care, I still have the same respect for her and everyone else as I did a moment before. Was anyone hurt? Was Kate hurt? Or was she a good sport about it and let it go? We don't really need to make such a big fuss out of things, but I have to say, it was a little disrespectful.

That rag needs to be sued. Not only is the photo 'retouched', it blatantly lies about it. I realize that it is probably a Euro mag, but still more reason to utterly destroy their bank account. That is what needs to happen the world over to news that is blatantly false, sue the crap outta them!

It's out of line and just rude. You will notice that europeans by and large have lousey teeth. Like it or not, that fluoride in our water gives U.S. the best teeth in the world. That's not a "belief", it's a fact.

Even though I live in England, I'm not a mega-fan of Kate Middleton. Still, I think it's really disrespectful to have edited the photograph, and then publish it as a magazine cover.
It's also a bit offensive to Brits in general....
