Madonna May Perform at This Year's Super Bowl Halftime Show: Who Is the Most Awesome Super Bowl Performer?
You!
Add Photos & Videos
Like Madonna and football? This may be your dream come true. The queen of pop may do the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5, SBNation.com reports.

The NFL and Madonna have yet to confirm the report, but the timing makes sense. Madge has an album slated to come out early next year, and she is currently auditioning dancers for a world tour, USA Today reports.

The Super Bowl could use such a reliable entertainer. Last year, The Black Eyed Peas were slammed for their less than stellar performance, including the much-mocked Slash-Fergie duet on "Sweet Child O' Mine." And Janet Jackson's 2004 wardrobe malfunction is still lingering in everyone's collective memory (let's hope Madonna's wearing a nipple shield).

But there have been some amazing Super Bowl performances in recent years from the most legendary musicians of our time, including the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, The Who and even Michael Jackson way back in 1993. Click through our slideshow and let us know: Who is the most awesome Super Bowl performer ever?

Wow! Why isn't Diana Ross on the list? Remember the hot, red dress? She left the show by helicoptor half hanging out of it & still belting out a song! It was almost as good as when she kept up the show in Central Park despite the rain. She's a trooper!
    Madonna's a great choice & I can't wait to see her.

actually, she's got the first, second and i think sixth place for biggest selling solo artist on a tour (she's only behind the rolling stones if you count bands) , she's second as biggest artist (only behind the beatles) and third top touring artist of the decade... (behind U2 and the rolling stones) if any solo artist can do it, it gotta be her, just saying...

I really don't care. I don't watch the half-time show, but maybe if it were Tom Petty or the Stones, I would. Maybe. Madonna - that's a definite "no".

But Beyonce stole the show. She is America's sweetheart, but being with Jay-z sure hasn't done anything for her musically. Get a new manager, and don't go the way of Mariah. Her stale and tired old act isn't even worth seeing on TV much less in person. Can't help but wonder if its drugs that keeps her thinking she's OK-what else could explain such a slide into unreality?

Madonna shouldn't even have the right to sing at the super bowl. She doesn't even appreciate the fact that her fans are what got her where she is today. I thunk she has a beautiful voice but I don't think she's wholesome I've bit.

(there are other superbowl choices for haltimes, so i just picked one and put my real answer.......PRINCE had the absolutely BEST half time show i had ever seen for an on tv superbowl half time. What do you mean, she may perform at the superbowl halftime? has she (madonna ciccone) been asked to do it? (and why is everyone still picking on the black eyed peas/slash from guns n roses? the production was pretty tremendous as well as the awesome costumes.... besides a few technical problems for such a large crowd... was really pretty good considering.

Paul is 1,000,000% better than all of those people put together. If it was not for Paul, Michael Jackson wouldn't be nearly as popular. Before Michael's death most people were hating him. Now everybody loves him. He would have been the least popular choice when he was living. The Rolling Stones as last, they are a great band better than the others besides Paul.
( Stone fans don't get me wrong I like the band but I prefer Paul)

Why did you vote for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band before Paul. Who are those people anyways? Why did you say U2 and The Who are better than Paul McCartney who is a legend.

I don't think Michael was ever the way people said he was. Michael, inside, was a child himself(thanks to his dad) Michael didn't have a childhood. He worked from the time he was 5 years old. He loved kids. He was living out his childhood through other kids.

I have to say "Where is Prince?" This list is very incomplete. 1993 was MJ. That was agreat show. But Diana Ross was also amazing, of course. Last years show was not good. It didnt seem big enough for the show. Black Eyed Peas? Pulleez. adonna sucks. Shes over. Prince played a fantastic show in a torrent of rain and the Colts won. I gotta be happy about that! Living in Indy, I have to say, the game will be here in Indy this year and Madonna in no way excites me, nor will it anybody else. Thats all they got? Madonna? There's gotta be somebody else! Theres just over 100 days left, they better nail this down. I hope Madonna is not booked for this. Boo! She is sooo un-football-ish.

They did an amazing job with the Olympics. But sadly, that little girl they had lip-sync was just used because they deemd the actual singer not attractive enough. How did that make the singer girl feel? Everybody thot that was shi**y of them when word got out. Thats pretty much what I remember from them. But it was a beautiful spectacle. & Prince is da man! :)
