If it had slipped out I'd say no big deal, but this was done as a slap in the face to the nation in which she was performing.

One can promote equality and progressiveness without going that far against the grain (some controversy is counterproductive).

Frankly, I don't really care about Madonna or Gaga or the silly things they do for publicity. However, isn't Madonna getting a little old for those shenanigans? Evidently not.

Now I have to say that with the way things currently are around the world vis-a-vis Americans and, say, muslims or anybody else, I don't lie awake at nights losing sleep over whether or not someone has insulted them.

But I do have to back off from that attitude somewhat and say, on second thought, Madonna went into another country to put on a show that is going to earn her mega gazillions of bucks in the long run, and lots of fans, etc. Strictly speaking as an American, as a human being, I do believe it was in poor taste for her to parade around in a manner which I'm sure she knows bothers a large portion of the population of that country. And they wonder where the term "Ugly American" came from originally, right? I think we all know.

As I said, I'm not going to lose any sleep over this, but if pushed for an opinion I'll have to say she used poor judgment, period.

No, I don't approve. She is a fantastic singer and has no need for such vulgarity on stage or while performing. She lowers herself when she pulls such as that !

But then again, Madonna has always been dragging the name of The Madonna, the virgin Mary, through the mud with her trashy antics. She is a dirty woman, and I wish she'd just go away and stop trying to pornify the world.

I think one should watch the tape before posting. It works! If I were the "empresario", I'd say, "Let's do it!" And that's no small matter. Rock and Roll shows have been plentiful for many years now. I don't really know about the politics of it all. Are those women just different from us? Would they really be better off being more like us? Would we be better off? I guess we would... maybe safer... Well If I come into the period of abundance, I'll be sure to catch her act.
