Eh, you still pay a lot more for a Mac, lets not kid ourselves, but you get a great computer experience. Solid, enjoyable OS to use, a company focused on servicing updates to just your specific machine... the down side is you have less choices in hardware... so you better like Apple's designs or you're not going to be happy.
its one of those things that i can't explain but it really is better. i bought my 1st mac two years ago and I don;t see myself buying another pc anytime soon
Sure, if the hard drive failed I'd rather just replace it myself instead of taking it to a Apple Store to get the repair... but on the other hand you get a much better computer experience. I've only had one hard drive fail in my lifetime, I've had to reinstall Windows... i don't even know how many times it's so many.
why in the hell would i pay more for a product that hardware wise is identical but software wise in upgradeable unless i want to buy it completely new. at least windows has upgrade you don't have to pay for, and linux is free (minus some corporate use os'). especially since there is no gain in using the mac os.
1. You can choose any combination of hardware you desire, from ultra cheap to high end, and Windows/Linux will run on all of them. With Macs you are a slave to what Apple offers, because they have locked down their OS to specific hardware IDs.
2. You can upgrade a PC at any time, with any hardware you want. With mac, you have to buy a new system at full cost.
3. PC's support a sheer endless selection of software, both commercial and free. With Mac you are limited to what Apple has authorised.
4. PCs are actually more secure than Macs. Apple keeps vulnerabilities secret and takes months to fix security holes.
wait, your being too tough on mac. mac is known for gaming and anything else dealing the graphics. macs are also more secure because hackers don't write a lot of viruses for ox. its costly but my mac doesn't crash anywhere near as much as my pc. plus, they come with twice the memory as most pc's. since office for mac has been available for some time now, mac has become a lot more easier to use...
Mac units are way over price; if you need to upgrade a system; it take 4-6 discs and too much time...but if you want to turn your PC into an easy to use Mac..get Ubuntu..1 disc, and easy to install; and auto upgrades...
To me, OSX is more enjoyable to use. Other operating systems like Google Chrome & Linux Mint are pretty decent as well, but I really appreciate all the thought that has gone into a Mac.
Good thing their designs are amazing. :)
not the same thing
But my next desktop will be a MAC.
