Lindsay Lohan's Sex Scene Demand: Bizarre or Reasonable?

Ever hear the advice that if you're nervous in front of other people, just imagine them in their underwear? Lindsay Lohan reportedly took that old chestnut quite literally on the set of her new movie "The Canyons" last week. Wait for the :15 mark in the video below to see the first pic from the movie!

The actress was reluctant to shoot a sex scene that required her to go topless in front of a 10-man crew, so she asked the guys to strip down to their boxers, sources close to the production tell TMZ. The guys were also hesitant to work half-naked, but they ultimately gave Lohan what she wanted and shot the scene in their underwear, TMZ reports.

We've seen Lindsay Lohan topless more than just about any other star, so we're not sure what she was so nervous about. Do you think her request was reasonable? Or just bizarre?

If it was something she felt uncomfortable with she asked for what she saw as a way to get comfortable. Posing for Playboy is very different to shooting a sex scene infront of a group of guys. Also, to those who are asking why she took the movie in the first place, she is taking as many movies as possible as to build her reputation as a professional in Hollywood so she probably didn't think the decision through. I give her my best and hope for her. Show 'em all Lindsay!

If Lindsey must go topless than the guys should do the same as well. I mean it is seen as a lot less embarrassing for men to take off their shirts than it is for women. If a woman must show her breast on the set in front of lots of men than the least the men can do is show their chest and undies which is a lot less embarrassing in front of one woman. If it makes the actress/actresses feel more secure on the set it is the least the males on set can do.

Based on Lindsey Lohans past I have a feeling no matter what would have been reported with the choices of Bizarre or Reasonable a lot of people would have picked Bizarre. I seriously doubt that all 60% who chose Bizarre really feel that way. It just so happens that this poll has Lindsey Lohan on it.

I mean come on....... she posed nude in Playboy! She is getting payed to be an actress. She is not a new spring chicken who is just getting used to the idea of being naked for others to see. Totally ridiculous to demand this. ((I would hope it was not a man only crew though, there should be women there also))

If I were as myself in that position, I'd ask them to do that. Call me weird but it would just make me feel more comfortable not being the only person half-naked, so sure let her request it.

She may simply be making a point and aside from that she may have wanted to check out the guys on set herself. I mean they get to check her out so why not let her check them out?

Doesn't matter what she has done, if she felt uncomfortable for any reason she either can ask them to do what will make her comfortable or refuse to do it. I say always trust your intuition. 10 to 1 and you being the naked one would be a bit much.

Playboy is a closed set with the photgrapher, lighting man, and female make-up artist. Hef is there initially, but usually does not stay past the first few proof pictures. Thats a bit different from filming in front of 10 leering male technicians who probably tossed a coin to see who would get to be in on this shoot. Why would they need 10 men? That is the bizarre part.

I'm not surprised by that part because you have the director (sometimes more than one) camera crew to get different angles for editing, sound tech, lighting, as well as other crew members setting up for other sets so their could easily be 10 people. While they may not be crowded around her they would be in her presence.

Johnny Depp-and other Hollywood royalty-demand a closed set with only three technicians--he says otherwise it is too distracting for him and the actress. ( He also directs all his own shoots and lighting.) I've heard this also about Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt.

It all just depends some people really like to be focused when acting and others like to improvise and have fun with it. It also depends on what you're use to I can't picture Neil Patrick Harris or Hugh Jackman worrying about closed sets seeing as they have done Broadway.

This young woman, however “human” she may be, certainly gets pissed upon a lot by the general public simply because she had initially become well known for her more evolved talents. Sure she has screwed up, but who the hell hasn’t? And to those of us who never made an unwise choice in life, does her mere vulnerability to public view really give one the righteousness of ass to cast a stone? At least she’s not running around dispensing lethal terror. This woman is my daughter, my sister, my aunt, my mother…. She is any woman and every woman I’ve ever loved because she is every woman.

To rise above all the pettiness, for a moment, consider the real issue behind Ms. Lohan’s demand. Here is a gifted young actress among colleagues – all male – working on a film in a scene whose content deals with sex… all within the context of a male-oriented society on the brink of restructuring in the waning age of the pimp. Where one is programmed to see just another spoiled brat throwing another tantrum in public, someone else – not so programmed – may see a heroine asserting her support in honoring the Feminine. http://themagicrealist.com/wh...

Her choice to beome an actress and take that partiuclar part requiring the sex scene. To ask the crew shooting the film (making probably less than 1% of her salary for the film) is without a doubt Bizarre and I know if I were in that crew I definitely would've declined and furthermore, threatened a sexual harrassment suit on her AND the studio for allowing it to happen.
