Lindsay Lohan Turned Down 'Dancing With the Stars': Should She Have Accepted?

“Dancing with the Stars” won’t announce their Season 16 celebrity line-up for about another month. But we do know one star who won’t be tripping on the ballroom floor this March: Lindsay Lohan.

If any star could use a comeback vehicle these days, it’s LiLo. In the past, “DWTS” has revitalized the careers of many actors-turned-dancers who are in need of a new gig. Plus, with her mounting tax debt and staggering court fees, she surely could use the cash.

But according to TMZ, the producers reportedly offered the “Liz & Dick” star a whopping $550,000 to appear on the show, which they say is four or five times more than most of the celebrity contestants make for committing to the series. Insiders told TMZ that LiLo thinks reality shows are beneath her and she wants to stick to the big screen.

But who knows, once she discovers her movie career is all but dead after numerous on-set problems with all her recent films, she may reconsider. Or maybe she plans on going to Charlie Sheen for another hand out. What do you think: Should LiLo have accepted the gig on “Dancing with the Stars”?

I am sick of her. She doesn't deserve more attention. She needs to get her act together first.

Yes. It would be fun to watch her on the show.

She could use the money I am sure. I feel for Lindsey. It is apparent she had a troubled childhood and learned many destructive coping mechanism's. I wonder had all those who have dogged her, instead, supported her, would she be who she is today. It seems like in society today, that many seem gleeful when someone stumbles, someone other than themselves that is.

I say "no" but not because the spot should be "given" to a more deserving celebrity. I say "no" because I think this young woman has been beaten up enough already by the media and believe the potential "let's beat up someone on DWTS" board posters would have a field day with this young woman. The latter have beaten up some nice folks who did not deserve the bad words. Can't blame the child of a woman you don't like for your differences yet this happen to B. Palin, while Cher's daughter or TGM child received warmth. And since when has DWTS producers chosen "stars" based on "deserving" reasons? The last movie I saw Lohan do, she was good yet the media "killed" the movie. IMHO.

She should, but won't, commit to the show. This is a show that makes it's stars WORK for their publicity. She couldn't live her lifestyle and still manage her performances and rehearsals and their physical demands. No better way to prove, or disprove rumors.

Her mom used to be a dancer and she likes clubbing a lot so I wonder why she turned it down. May be she was too busy with her dates at the courts.

Maybe she didn't accept because she knows she violated her probation and will be sitting before Judge Sautner in California YET AGAIN... I expect this time LiLo will serve time in jail. But at least she can't hurt herself in jail or anyone else with her skillful driving (haha!)

She just doesn't seem to care about anything..........if I were a producer I would NEVER even think about her............there are many others to choose.
Just think if this was you or I that didn't pay taxes or anything..........why is SHE privileged???

I honestly think she has lost her privileged status. I believe Judge Sautner is going to sock it to her. I think she has completely lost her compass in living her life and may need something as serious as incarceration to get her back on track. Also, I believe it is Judge Sautner that placed her on probation to begin with, so she will be very unhappy to see LiLo in her courtroom again.

No! I'd rather see her sit in jail where she should have gone a long time ago. She's not that talented. Her fame comes from her exploits. I don't see the fascination.

Yes, but her refusal speaks volumes toward her good character! Dancin wid da Stars is merely an abomination of entertainment. Between the 'stars', their dance instructors, the judges, the sponsors, the networks & the brain dead audience, it is pure puke at every level obliterating any good programs. we stay stoopid

Maybe Lindsey could apply at a later date. But only after she straightens out

Oh goodness, is that picture current? Poor thing. I know a lot of her misery is self-inflicted and she can occasionally be rather thoughtless with her words, but I can't help but feel a bit bad for her. I think she should be staying out of the spotlight, she seems to only make trouble for herself in it.
