Hold on a second ... Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor? Believe it or not, it's confirmed. Lifetime television announced that the probation queen is going to play the legendary actress in "Liz & Dick," a TV movie based on the violet-eyed beauty's storied romance with actor Richard Burton.

"We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor," said Rob Sharenow, executive vice president, programming, of Lifetime Networks. "She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon."

Lohan added, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role."

Last year, Deadline.com reported that Martin Scorsese was eyeing Angelina Jolie to play Liz in another movie based on the Taylor-Burton love story. Seemed a fitting choice: Not only does Angie have the looks, Liz caused the Brangelina scandal of the day when her fourth husband Eddie Fisher left his wife Debbie Reynolds to be with her.

Megan Fox has the look. Plus I am willing to give her a shot at something different. Though acting wise angelina has it down, I think Megan could do it if we give her the chance. Lindsay Lohan just doesnt have the class or deserving to play this part. If she is just looking for a comeback then she should try something that isnt beyond her.

I haven't seen this movie yet, so can't comment on that, but I'll take your word for it...word is she'll be up for an academy award...we'll see. I think Linsay would make a stellar Elizabeth Taylor, or a ZsaZsa Gabor--even better! But I do not think she is ready to face critical criticism if the movie flounders--I think it will put her over the edge. So I voted instead for Michelle Williams who seems light years better grounded.

l read Liz Taylor herself was not happy about the idea before she passed away but with the right hair do and make up she looks the most like her among the actresses above. I hope this is the break she needs to get her life back on track

I am not thrilled about Lindsay's behavior; however, she does have the beauty and the edge that Elizabeth Taylor had. Elizabeth gave it as good as she got it. She was a real gem. Rest in peace. Hopefully, she is with her Richard Burton forever. I wish I had my very own like him.

I would prefer a Smurf play Elizabeth Taylor rather than Lindsay Lohan. She doesn't derserve to play an actress that even her lowest moments demonstrated class and dignity. I don't think Lindsay Lohan has truly grasped what that means. She hasn't had any real roles in a while because she is not dependable. Her history actions speak for themselves. This is only a TV role, hopefully a major movie will happen and Megan Fox can have her turn.

Boy, I don't know how SH did that, I voted for "Angelina Jolie". Liz Taylor was much more than just a "Once in a life time movie Star". She was a presents, an Icon, a Roll model, an exceptional talent. Although troubled in her youth, she over came it and went on to live a useful productive life. Few actors could play her part and due it justice. Linsey isn't one of them.
