Lindsay Lohan Ruins Borrowed Dress: Have You Ever Messed Up an Outfit You Borrowed?

Doesn’t it seem like it’s been at least a week since Lindsay Lohan did something to land in the gossip columns? If you’ve been feeling a LiLo void, there’s good news. She’s in trouble again.

This time, she’s committed a crime against fashion. No, she didn’t wear something embarrassing on the red carpet. It’s quite the opposite, actually. Lohan borrowed a stunning THEIA gown to wear to an amfAR gala earlier this month. In fact she sparkled in the beaded, floor length creation that is valued at $1,750.

Linsday Lohan amfAR THEIA red carpet

Well, now it’s probably worth a lot less. According to sources, the dress mysteriously ripped while the 26-year-old actress was at a club following the fundraiser. So she did what any beleaguered starlet would -- she hacked away at the designer garment.

An unidentified source told US Weekly, “She couldn't possibly wear it like that — so her stylist friend went to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the torn part of the dress… She turned it into a mullet! Only a fashiony person would do that!"

Of course, everyone knows that it’s easy to rip a hemline when you’re tearing up the dance floor. But the mangled maxi-turned-mini dress might just be proof that it’s best to think twice before asking for a favor when it comes to fashion. What about you? Have you ever messed up an outfit you borrowed?

Nope. Rented a tux once and returned it cleaner than I got it. In fact my sweat is know for killing bacteria, germs, and unintended romance. And I agree with all concerned who believe that spoiled rich brat should pay for the damages to the dress she wore.

This figures with Lindsay though! =P

It puts me in the mind of the movie "Pretty in Pink" with Molly Ringwald where she made a prom dress out of 2 dresses by removing parts from each to make her own design.
Difference is, she didn't mess it up but the post reminds me of this movie anyway.

Not my style. I'm clean and clear. I also take care of things I like to donate to others (launder, sew loose buttons, explain anything about fit, recommendations on wear).

God no! That's tacky. You're supposed to return it dry-cleaned. If something does happen and it gets ruined, then you pay for it. Very simple.

Cheap advertising for the brand name THEIA. For THEIA, the $1750 is probably closer to $175, if that much. Less than couple hundred bucks for advertising...a no brainer.

Now if I can forget the name LOHAN! I have no reason to remember the brand name THEIA unless they compete head-to-head with what I by at my local Goodwill Store (new stuff from LL Bean, Carhart, EMS, etc.)

In the first place, they whom ever it was that loaned her anything should have known better... From all the problems she has been, they should have known better... She only thinks of herself and does not care about anyone but herself!!! Their problem, not hers... I don't loan out my things, even to friends and they don't ask...

Lindsay might as well go on ahead and change her name to Charlie Brown (he's a clown, why is everybody always picking on me). Fact of the matter is, when you loan something out your taking a risk, the price of the gown probably had a huge mark up and the designer got lots of advertising which would of cost much more had he placed an ad in the paper/fashion magazine or paid for a commercial. I have never borrowed an outfit from anybody, nor would I borrow one that was so expensive because I would spend the whole evening worrying about messing it up.

why would anybody lend this chick a $1750 anything... that just baffles me. It's a known fact that she is not responsible or trustworthy. Lilo needs to stay should just move to another country where nobody knows or cares who the heck she is

No, I've never borrowed or rented an outfit, but if I did, I'd have had respect for it, and never dreamed of damaging my friend's property. We grew up poor, my Mother couldn't afford to buy us clothes more than twice a year, so we learned how to take care of what we had, as we needed it to last! People who have money, but no class, don't seem to respect anybody, not even themselves, a la Lohan.

I know well about growing up poor and having to change out of your school clothes/shoes when you got home. Very seldom do I remember ever getting new clothing, usually ours were bought at garage sales. When I got to high school I worked odd jobs on the weekends and saved every penny I could to buy my school clothes.

She ripped it on purpose so she could go dancing in the club. $1800 is pocket change to her anyway.
