Lil Wayne Calls OKC Thunder Racist: Is He Nuts?

Lil Wayne is often in the news, but it's for anything other than his music. Just over the weekend, Wayne pulled his entire Young Money crew from the heavily-hyped Summer Jam concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, due to one DJ saying Wayne's top-selling artist Nicki Minaj was whack. During one of the biggest concerts of the year, Wayne pulled out when people paid to see him and his artists; he may even be guilty of breach of contract. Not too smart.

Lost in the Lil Wayne headlines, due to the Summer Jam fiasco, is the rapper claiming the Oklahoma City Thunder are a bunch of racists. Yes, the same Thunder organization whose team is mostly compromised of African-American men. The Thunder strongly hint that Wayne is just bitter that the organization would not let him in for free for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals in OKC.

According to the Thunder, Wayne wanted front row seats, but he couldn't have them because they were sold out. “Lil Wayne's representatives insisted that he sit in the front row,” the Thunder said to the media, following Wayne's public complaints. “And none of those seats were available." That explanation didn't sit well with Wayne, who believes he was treated unfairly and is sticking by his theory, even though Thunder players have offered tickets.
