This post about who should be called "African" and "American" is dumb, the reason we call ourselves "African-American" is because of our lineage, not our country of origin, African Americans are still "American" as a white person, Africans aren't even really called Africans because one: Africa is a CONTINENT not a Country, they call the "Africans" by whatever country within Africa they hail from, like when Team USA took on the NIGERIANS not the "AFRICANS"--understand??

What prompted this discussion then, and what 'resolution' do you hope to achieve?

'Free will' means that people are going to think and act however they want.

Some people will agree with the young man in the video, while others will not.

Some people will continue to actively choose to hyphenate their ethnicity or nationality (not 'race,' because we're all the same species.)

But no one can "make" anyone else think as they do.
