The 25-year-old "Gossip Girl" actress has sued her mother, Constance Meester, for using a $7,500-per-month stipend (intended for her brother Alexander's medical care) to buy plastic surgery, Botox and hair extensions, TMZ reported.
The actress also claims her mother threatened to sue her for $3 million if she didn't raise the monthly allowance to $10,000.
"This whole thing's been really tough on Leighton," a source told People. "Her only concern has always been taking care of her brother. Leighton's really close with her brother and her dad -- her parents are divorced."
On Monday, Constance filed a counter-suit claiming she spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on her daughter's acting career, but Meester broke her promise to help care for Alexander, who had brain surgery in May.
"Since Alexander receives 24 hour care from Constance, no alternative source of income is possible," the counter-suit says. "As a direct result of Leighton's breach, there are no funds to feed and care for Alexander."
Constance also says her daughter attacked her last December.
"Leighton intentionally assaulted Constance by throwing her to the ground and repeatedly hitting her with a bottle," the documents say.
But the elder Meester has had her own trouble with the law. According to People, she was convicted in the 1980s of helping a drug ring smuggle marijuana from Jamaica to the U.S., and earlier this year, a woman won a restraining order against her after alleged harassment.

Although, if she WAS sending that much home to take care of her brother, her mom had no right to complain OR use the money for cosmetic procedures, since it was specifically for the brothers care-WHY is the mom not taking care of the brother like she would have to if Leighton worked at KMart?
Yeah, it is kind of harsh and selfish for a mother to expose her daughter to the media and rest of the public.
I think Constance Meester is worse than all of the other leeches listed, stealing money that was for your ill child's medical bills is beyond vile. That woman is some piece of work to believe that she is entitled to be financially supported by her daughter for the rest of her life because she sacrificed for her acting career when she was growing up. She needs to be clued in that sacrificing so your children can have a successful future is part of being a parent and that it is Alexander's father's responsability to help her take care of him not his sister's.
This isn't biting her in the ass it's biting her mother since her criminal past is being dragged through the press once again and will no doubt effect her case if her credibility and character is brought up in court.
So what, it's not leighton's responsibility
I wonder if thats coincidence or if goldigging parents are more comfortable leaching of daughters than sons.
I hadn't heard the Meester story till today but thats disgusting.
