It is a philosophical question about the irony of life. To be able to be the "most" free we must submit to some sort of law and order so that we can live together in a society. There is no freedom in anarchy, just chaos. There is no lasting freedom in chaos, you might feel free for a bit, but then the chaos will consume you and you will be a slave again. It is only through some sort of order that we can at least be free. And in order there is rules...so life is ironic...

It's true, I agree it is a catch-22. There is no absolute freedom except in the mind... if we are able to achieve that... but then again, that has nothing to do with human society.

Good post, brother! I was just playing up the anarchist point a lil' bit to show the extreme side (or the over the edge) libertarian viewpoint, because I think that element has to remain there for what you are proposing to materialize... in other words, for your ideas to look MODERATE by comparison... it's my theory of "over-shooting" the goal to achieve the moderate outcome. It's Hegelian, I think. Awesome stuff. Thank you again, sir.

Not necessarily, anarchy as a philosophy (the absence of government), doesn't imply chaos or even a complete lack of rules. It just so happens that in our western system of thinking we have come to associate anarchy to disorder and chaos.

That is actually a mistranslation. It actually means, "Thus always to Tyrants". It has been uttered after the assassination of many tyrants. It is a way of saying that those that oppress there people can never last and thus they seal there own fate.

Another good one though is "respice, adspice, prospice" "Examine the past, Examine the future, Examine the future"

I know," thus always to tyrants" is what J.W.Booth said upon shooting Lincoln...but it has more of a direct meaning when said the other way...but you are corrct in the translation....
