I used to be... used to volunteer at the food bank, and do a load of other community service... but since I've gone back to school (Janurary) I hardly have time to sleep, much less help others. It's school, work, homework, sleep, repeat. If my tuition fees weren't so damn high I might be able to work less, but that just isn't the case.

Sometimes I go with my aunt to help disabled children learn to read sheet music. I also like volunteering at animal shelters and I occassionaly like to help people carry heavy things.

My existence is a good cause for all humanity.

Every year I 'Race For Life' for Cancer Research.

Other than "Help A Poor Student Afford Expensive Paint fund", no :<

i volunteer at my local charity shops and always do something for children in need & sport/comic relief.

I build wood toy trucks and donate them for special need kids. My honor is seeing or hearing about the smile it puts on a childs face.

I don't know anything about that industry. With no other information offered, why would I assume horse drawn carriages = abused horses?

Oh. No, it is a terrible life for the horses. As an idea It sounds nice and really could be nice, IF the horses were treated well, but they are treated rather poorly.

Why don't the owners of the business get in strife for animal cruelty? I'm sure the laws are in place.

They get in a little trouble, fines and all of that, sometimes. I believe it has actually gotten better. Every so often there is focus put on the issue, like now, and it improves a little, for a while anyway.

Sadly, no. I would probably like to be someday.

Not yet,but when I get a better running car,I am going to get involved with Dachshund Rescues in Texas.

I got my monster from DRNA (Dachshund Rescue of North America), they are based in Indiana. I rented a car and drove to PA to meet up with people who had fostered her overnight, then had driven her that far, so I could bring her home with me. Great cause!
I actually brought home mine and a little boy for someone else in the city.
Why did you pick the org you designated?

3 of my last 4 dachshunds came from the same breeder in Houston. Wondefrul Mother / Daughter. Now I live out in the area where I picked up my latest one in 1999,and the house & property was taken over by commercial development,so my kennel put me in touch with All Texas Dachshund Rescue and another group. I still do courier work in the Houston area,so as soon as i get back on the road,I am going to save some Dachshunds.

They are a very special, such tough, stubborn, brave, defiant, little nuts, but insanely loyal and real characters! What a breed!
