Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion: Does She Deserve Jail Time?

Singer Lauryn Hill pleaded guilty Friday morning to tax evasion. She could face up to three years in jail if she's not able to pay back what she owes before her November sentencing. Hill's attorney claims that she is being targeted by the federal government because of her celebrity status.

Hill gave her side of the story in a lengthy blog post a couple weeks ago, stating she had to go underground in order to protect her family from being "manipulated and controlled by a media protected military industrial complex”. While "underground" she claims to have used all of her resources to protect her family instead of paying her taxes. What do you think? Is Hill being unjustly targeted by the government or does she deserve jail time?

The former Fugee failed to file three years of taxes.

Didn't realize this was a Henry Pulson article.

You could ask the same question about dozens of people (if not hundreds, or more) who have cheated on their taxes. But I stuck with the name in this article.

The law applies to *everyone* and like most Americans I pay my taxes and so should she.

She made the conscious choice to cheat on her taxes and now she must pay it back or face the consequences. She has no one to blame but herself.

Paying taxes is unconstitutional according to a 1985 supreme court ruling 5-4. Right after this inccident the gobalist agreed that they must do something about it, then came out with the sixteen amendment was created, we the people should have a say on all this and not just follow on what is lay for us to do, the beneficiary party is never the people but those who preceded those great thinkers. All you people voting YES listen to yourselves how brainwash are you?

Lol thats the law right? So i mean its kinda what has to happen..kinda. 3 years tho thats kind of wreckless how do you get 3 full years of prison time for this? I knew it was bad but for real? 365 x 3 days in Jail?? Maybe its just me but that seems like inflation.

There isn't an adult citizen in this country that doesn't know there are serious consequences if you do not file your income taxes. She isn't being targeted because of her "celebrity status", she's being targeted because she is a tax evader.
