Lady Gaga has kept a relatively low profile lately, but a recent tweet has her Little Monsters biting back. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old recording artist tweeted, "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad and dreaming of a cheeseburger." Harmless enough, but it was the hashtags she added at the end that had critics wincing: #PopSingersDontEat, ironically followed by #IWasBornThisWay.

Now the Twitterverse is attacking Gaga for using the hashtag, accusing her of "endorsing anorexia." One user wrote, "Lady Gaga's #PopSingersDontEat tweet is just wrong & makes her sound like a hypocrite. Lost some respect now." However, others say it's being blown out of proportion. Another user wrote, "#PopSingersDontEat = Not eating whatever the heck you want. Didn't anyone teach you not to take everything literally?" Do you think Gaga's latest tweet was inappropriate -- or was she just trying to keep it real?

Truthfully, the most "full" life they have is probably in front of the camera. They eat fame and starve to look "good". It's ugly, but its probably very true. I wish she had said they eat "pop tarts". But, maybe that is more something someone like Marilyn Manson would say..... *ponders*

People take things way to seriously! It’s obviously just a joke, and she’s probably even poking fun at herself.
Besides, if she just got done working out, I doubt she would want to go and eat something that would immediately cancel out all that hard work.

I'm aware, just saying, most people don't load up their proteins with a greasy cheesburger. It just makes you 'feel' like it wasn't worth it. I prefer something that feels lighter after a workout. Some chicken/rice/salad. Things like that (:

its horrible, but true. pop stars always think they need to look perfect ( if they were actually confident about their music they wouldnt thinks so) and well, how do you stay perfect if you dont starve yourself. I think its ridiculous. EAT! enjoy life and its flavors! im not saying be a f*ucking cow but eat!

It just seems so blown out of proportion. I basically agree with the person that said not to take everything literally. She's just saying that she feels like she can't eat whatever she wants cuz she's a pop star and has to fit the image.

So it's not honest of her to be open about the fact that she's suffered from disordered eating since childhood? Should she suffer in silence? Fact is, a lot of celebrities are pressured into not eating... I think it's pretty brave of her to come out and say so.
Plus, she was eating a salad... that sounds nutrient-rich and balanced.

Well, I just thought that she was making light of the matter and promoting the fact that women should 'not eat' in order to be skinny. Eating salad doesn't count as not eating imho, that sounds good.

Perhaps her remark might have been kind of tongue-in-cheek. I battle anorexic behaviour and I tend to have a dark sense of humour about it.

I have had an eating disorder too, although I was never diagnosed. I may have finally found a way to maintain my figure and not starve myself... and sometimes it hurts to see that other people struggle as well. It's good that you can admit it.

Not inappropriate but this is just all part of her little *I'm so unique and different from other pop stars and there conformity* persona. Which is a bunch of BS. Plenty of pop stars eat, in fact many of them eat quite a bit more than most due to how much they work out. She thinks she's being *avant-garde* and *edgy* by revealing something that sounds like something *pop stars wouldn't want us to know* ooOOoOO

No, I mean the whole "pop stars don't eat" thing is an inside joke based of a sarcastic answer she gave in an interview back in 08/09...something most people wouldn't know unless they were fans. She's not trying to "reveal" anything.
