Lady Gaga has kept a relatively low profile lately, but a recent tweet has her Little Monsters biting back. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old recording artist tweeted, "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad and dreaming of a cheeseburger." Harmless enough, but it was the hashtags she added at the end that had critics wincing: #PopSingersDontEat, ironically followed by #IWasBornThisWay.

Now the Twitterverse is attacking Gaga for using the hashtag, accusing her of "endorsing anorexia." One user wrote, "Lady Gaga's #PopSingersDontEat tweet is just wrong & makes her sound like a hypocrite. Lost some respect now." However, others say it's being blown out of proportion. Another user wrote, "#PopSingersDontEat = Not eating whatever the heck you want. Didn't anyone teach you not to take everything literally?" Do you think Gaga's latest tweet was inappropriate -- or was she just trying to keep it real?

Truthfully, the most "full" life they have is probably in front of the camera. They eat fame and starve to look "good". It's ugly, but its probably very true. I wish she had said they eat "pop tarts". But, maybe that is more something someone like Marilyn Manson would say..... *ponders*

not to say that it also wasn't the best thing to say, I don't think she meant it literally or meant any harm, but she's got to be a little more careful of things being taken out of context as she's in the public eye...

Pop stars have to look good for the cameras... I don't believe in that she was telling people pop stars don't eat, but that pop stars don't eat just anything. They have a eating plan (I hate the word diet) that they have to stick to.

My weight is appropriate for my height and I do exercise and eat right most of the time, but I resent it when "celebrities" think they have a right to butt into the lives of others. Gag Gag is too thin, in my opinion - but it's just my opinion. She needs to sit down and shut up.

We live in a 24 hour "blow everything out of proportion" society that is primed to take everything out of context as much as possible. It's gotten rather disgusting. This is just another example. We all know what she means so let's not get all hot an bothered by purposefully making this a problem.

There is a difference between sayting "starveing and wanting to eat but i wont cuz ill get fat" and " Im eating healthy food but honestly i want the cheezeburger" She is only saying what everyone eating strictly healthy is thinking. She wants the unhealthy food but is being good and eating the healthy food.

Everyone knows that very few celebrity folk eat. Some of them are either suffering from an eating disorder or compulsive working out. Fat doesn't sell. It's not attractive but saying that does send a bad message to young people who are having image problems and feel that the only way to be accepted is to starve themselves. You have to be responsible with your words, especially if you have a large following of fans.

I checked inappropriate because it is not honest. Your body needs food to survive, therefore she does eat. She does not look anorexic to me.

although i dont think she meant anything negative by it, and i dont think this is really inappropriate, but its not 'honest' either. its an exaggeration. having a nice body by eating healthily and exercising is not so diffcult as people like to make it seem.

It's true. Successful pop stars know that, to continue to be paid as an entertainer, appearance is part of the package. Debbie Harry was recently asked about her plastic surgery, for the same reasons... and she pretty much answered the same way.

I think it's a terrible shame, but it's one of those unpleasant facts of life.

I think it's more that she's trying to be at her best for her upcoming tour, not that she's starving herself. Tours like hers take a lot of energy and rehearsals.

Clearly we have some haters out ther IT'S A TWEET! just because she' a celebrity dosent make everything she says golden if we brought out the pitch forks everytime you or I said something that could be taken the wrong way we'd have quite I few holes in us. But, I suppose it's the price u pay for being a "pop star"?
