Lady Gaga to Play Lady Chameleon in 'Machete Kills': Will She Be a Good Actress?

According to critically-acclaimed director Robert Rodriguez's verified Twitter account, best-selling recording artist Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) will star in "Machete Kills." Gaga will play the role of Lady Chameleon in the highly-anticipated sequel to "Machete," which will also be directed by Rodriguez. It is Gaga's first major acting gig.

Gaga known for her eccentric style and out-there personality, has recently made headlines for dissing "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen for overtaking her hit single "Born This Way" in the music chart rankings. Gaga also met resistance in Indonesia, when attempting to hold a concert there and was eventually denied entry.

The good news for Gaga is that her casting in Rodriguez's latest film is one that makes any beefs or setbacks pale in comparison. "Machete Kills" may be Gaga's first major role, but she was actually rumored to be cast as Amy Winehouse in a biopic, following Winehouse's untimely death last year. Gaga has already proven to be one of the best music has to offer and at this point, makes it look easy. We'll see if she does the same when transitioning to the silver screen.

uh huh makes sense...though you're in your 50's? i definitely don't say it. for one it's offensive and two well it doesn't make any damn sense. i'd like to think i have a little more wit than that.

haha ok perhaps i shall clarify. YOU ARE IN YOUR 50's ACCORDING TO YOUR PROFILE... hence my statement "you're in YOUR 50's" furthermore by saying that "kids" say it also you are making no sense. due to the fact that well...you're not a kid... i don't use that statement either and i've stated my reasons. i'd like to think at 22 years old i'm not a "kid" and don't need to resort to juvenile comments about homosexuality.

I work in an environment that is 90% people between 15-22 years old. Point is I hear "YOUR SO GAY" repeated 100 times a week--it's just one of the phrases they use regularly.
That music is SO GAY
Those jeans are SO GAY
That haircut is SO GAY
That teacher is SO GAY
Getting a hall pass is SO GAY
etc etc etc etc

I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING... YOU ARE IN YOUR 50's is my point. you aren't in that age bracket yet you use the statement. the young ones say it so you can? i'm 22 and i didn't say that statement you did. not making any sense at all... the question was about gaga not the ratio of how many juveniles use the phrase "that's so gay"

She is conveying so much emotion. Definitely, an Oscar winning role. I did not realize you won an Oscar for wearing a lampshade on your head.

if you read correctly you would know I was speaking of her putting on big performances and different type videos. if you base it all on looks i'm sorry to hear that because i can't see how far that would get you in life. also yeah definitely not a lampshade. perhaps investing in some of these would help...

Look I don't know if she can pull it off or not but from what I've seen from most who want to try acting they have little in the way of skills. With the exceptions of a very few, Will Smith, Mark Wahlberg, Cher, and Justin Timberlake you get the idea.

From what I've seen in her music videos, she does have a bit of acting talent.
I can't say for sure if it would carry out in a full movie, but I guess this will be a test to see that.
