There aren't many celebrities who can hold a candle to Lady Gaga's social media fan base. She has 47 million Facebook fans, 19 million Twitter followers, and well over a billion YouTube views. (That's right -- she hit one billion over a year ago.) But that's not enough. The "Born This Way" star is currently testing out her own social media site, Little Monsters, so that her fans can unite together in one freaky, fashionable location.
According to CNN, Little Monsters will function a bit like Pinterest, a relatively new social network that emphasizes image boards and visual media, encouraging users to share things that interest them instead of flaunting their personal lives and relationships all over the web, like a certain social network that won't be named.
Little Monsters is still in an invite-only beta phase, but Matt Michelsen, CEO of Backplane, who is developing the site, has high hopes. He explained, "Backplane is about bringing together communities and Gaga's community just so happens to be the community we're using to learn about proper functionality. We think we can really change the world." Do you think Little Monsters will succeed? And is Lady Gaga the most tech-savvy celeb out there?
