Lady Gaga Isn't Allowed to Perform in Indonesia: Fair or Foul?

Lady Gaga met some resistance in South Korea when religious groups protested her concert there, but Indonesia is taking it to a whole new level. According to the BBC, Indonesian police have denied Gaga a permit to perform in the country on June 3, but it's not exactly because they don't approve of her message. At least, not directly. They're doing it for her own good. The Islamic Defenders Front is threatening to intercept the diva when she gets there.

A spokesman for the Indonesian police told the BBC, "It is better that we don't give permission rather than that [the concert] ends up being stopped by the people. We have already received a letter requesting us to consider the people's plea [for cancellation]. And the Jakarta Police also refused to recommend a permit for the concert because we don't want people to clash." Did they make the right choice in denying Lady Gaga a permit to perform in Indonesia?

That totally sucks for all the little monsters in Indonesia that already payed tickets to see her. Its not cool that they are infringing on their rights like that, just because radical religious groups don't like her.

So don't care if you hate her but this is foul.

The "People" in this case are a small group of extremists who are forcing their views on the entire population of the country. When you bow to terrorist threats you empower them. If the government did not want Gaga performing they should not have allowed the venue to be booked or tickets to be sold.

It is up to the Indonesian people what they want, not everyone in the world goes "gaga" over our so called celebrities. Then there is fact that the government has to address their own security concerns. It is more important to respect other people's culture and accept the reality that not everyone wants to embrace our culture.

Foul that the religious group is doing something like this but the Indonesian authorities are just trying to keep the peace. Nothing wrong with that. She is incredibly talented and fascinating, I can't understand why people are such haters. If you don't like her, fine, but must you force your opinions on others??

Illuminati, bunch of conspiracy theories, and wearing bizarre clothing. People/children are influenced by what they see and I don't want to see anyone looking even remotely like Gaga. Also, I'm not a big fan of gay marriage so I disagree with her views politically as well.
