Lady Gaga loves pushing the envelope -- but smoking pot on stage probably isn't setting the best example for her young fans. The 26-year-old superstar appeared to light up at an Amsterdam show, telling her audience: "I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I’ve really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music," according to The Sun.

She also said she was going to talk to President Obama about legalizing marijuana, and said the drug's famous leaf symbol is the "new peace sign," according to the tabloid. "It’s like saying everybody needs to take a breath and it’s going to be OK," she explained. We're not sure the parents of her young fans would agree ...

Oh NOOO she lit A JOINT!! *gasp* How very SHAMEFUL!!

Please. She's already admitted to smoking pot. It's NOT a big deal.

If it were Meth, Heroine, or even A CIGARETTE, then I would have to say that's not the best idea.

But pot? COME ON. I'm sick of the anti-drug preachers ranting, flailing, and pointing fingers over how BAAAD pot is. The same yahoos who think wine is also bad for you; by the way, it isn't.

This is hardly anything to get your panties in a bunch over. If you want someone to point a shaming finger at, the Lindsay Lohan post is on another section of SodaHead. THERE is where y'all need to go and preach about "bad role modeling"

    gaga haters gif

SMALL EDIT: After getting a chance to read it instead of breeze through it - sorry, I'm a busy chick - I saw it was in Amsterdam... so... IT. IS. AMSTERDAM. Pot is tolerated there. You're welcome.

I was a Chemical dependency nurse for 9 years. Even though pot may do good for ppl with Cancer, it does harm your brain. It stunts the growth of your brain and in some cases when too much pot is smoked, it will not only stunt the growth of your brain but it will also take years away. As in... A 17 year old boy will have the mentality of a 6 year old. Reason being, because he started using before his brain was finished growing and he also used too much.

I guess maybe I didnt explain my self well enough. This happens when a CHILD begins to smoke pot. Say at the age of 8 or 9. And before that... The apartment and home he lives in is a flop house. (A one bedroom apartment with 20 ppl smoking pot inside) The child would have gotten the effects of the pot long before he actually started smoking it at age 8. This is when the childs brain is still growing. If this child starts to smoke at age 8 and cont's heavily until he's 17? His brain will be stunted and the chances of his mentality being at the age limit of 8 or below are pretty great.

She never was what could be called a role model. She presents herself as an exotic, extreme and outrageous performer. Through the years there have always outrageous personalities such as Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna and others. In my view her act is a parody of today's society. Her fans will grow and prosper just as past generations have and no matter how they turn out, it won’t have anything to do with Lady Gaga.

Like so many "artists" today they've got nothing but shock. This seems to be a constant with them since even Plato observed this rush to the bottom mentality and stated in "The Republic" that bards should either be strictly regulated or banned.

Actually, she's very talented. I don't like the shock factor but, that's what it takes to make it in an industry that cares little for talent and a great deal for cash.

Here is the thing. If you limit humans of something they will want it more to the point they will find anyway to get it across. Let everyone do it and they will grow out of it. Furthermore pot does not kill or affect your body other than making you high. Its used medically

Well it just depends on what it is she is really smoking and where she does it. If she is really smoking marijuana then is it illegal where she is doing it . But I dont know of anybody that cares what anybody smokes , what I hear is those that want to smoke (anything) are just going to do it . And those that dont smoke (anything) don't, and that is me, I am too cheap to buy tobacco , marijuana , or anything else. And except for answering a survey here on SH I never think about or care what others are doing about smoking.

Pot has been wrongly villified. It should be legal. It was made illegal as a means to deporting Mexican workers in the U.S.

Alcohol causes more impairment too. The guy who smoked a joint will stop 20 ft. before he gets to the traffic light, instead of running it!

The war on drugs was a complete waste of tax dollars. It hasn't curtailed drug use one iota, but has criminalized people who never committed any other serious crime. We are supposed to have the right to use any such substances without government interference under our Constitution. Politicians, law makers, and Judges have perverted the Constitution!

That's another issue altogether. We need to close our borders and make everybody follow the same rules to enter and/or become citizens of our country. And we need to reform our immigration laws to reduce immigration drastically if we are going to put U.S. citizens and legal immigrants back to work. I don't think marijuana use should be a consideration.

Quite frankly I think her smoking pot makes her a good role model. She has cut down on her drinking because of the cannabis which means less chances of her hurting herself when drunk and doing less stupid stuff while drunk. Plus legally there is nothing wrong with what she did because she was in amsterdam so there's that

In Amsterdam, I'm pretty sure the kids would look at this and say, Oh look someone not breaking the law!
But seriously, it's not like she was killing puppies on stage. Give her a break. (And I don't even like her!)

It's pretty silly, but it just tickles my fancy, so it's making me laugh out loud for real. I barely even know who this performer is, and have no idea what she sounds like. I just know that she seems to be in the news (or the entertainment "news") a great deal and people seem to have really strong responses to her. I wonder if she would be as famous (or infamous) if she'd kept the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta? :-D

I'm surprised the beef industry didn't sue her over that one.
