When Avril Lavigne and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger announced their engagement, haters immediately took to their Twitters and Facebooks to express their disdain -- and many even lamented "Let's hope they never make an album together!" Well, I hate to be the bearer of (apparently) bad news, but it looks like they did. In fact, label boss LA Reid confirmed it.

There might be just as many people excited about their collaboration as there are dreading it, but so far the people dreading it are making more digital noise. So now is your time, SodaHeads. Let your voices be heard! Are you looking forward to an Avril Lavigne/Chad Kroeger collaboration, or is this the worst thing to happen to music since Paris Hilton?

I don't get it...Nickelback rocks...Ms Lavigne is a great singer (the latest Alice In Wonderland kinda shows her off wonderfully), so what is the problem??? When they do their research profiles after the music has been done, it's going to let them know if it's any good and they'll either bring it to light or close the lid on it. What's the worst - it might not sound good, but the chances are it might, so why not give the 3 or so minutes and give the main songs a listen...plenty of sites give samples before you buy, so it's not like you'd ever be stuck with an album you didn't actually want online, and the shops usually have listening posts...so again, I fail to see what the big deal is. Good luck to them both if it's true love! I hope it works out for them (not just the music, but life in general).

They're okay musicians. I won't be waiting to grab this album the moment it hits the shelves but they're not that bad, so I might listen to it. I honestly don't know what's more annoying; mainstream shoving mediocre artists down the public's throat or those who constantly bash them. If you don't like it, don't listen. How hard is that?

Nickleback used to be good-ish,but that was years ago. When this album comes out as inevitable as it is,it will probably be on December 21st. When the world will die of brain hemmorages(any corrections welcome)

maybe... I love Chad Kroeger's uplifting voice. Its just Nickelback tries too hard to get into the country genre.

Well actually, Avril's music never really bothered me. And while I think Nickelback is astoundingly overrated, and I find Chad's voice rather irritating, I don't care either way about their collab album.
