My last two boyfriends I broke up with I still hung around with and treated everything like normal because we still shared friends and I didn't want to make things awkward with them. I thought it turned out fine...until they reported back to me much later, when they apparently got over it, and told me I had made them miserable by acting like everything was normal... so maybe it's time to change that stance. :/

That appearance would have been awkward, anyway. For Kristen. They were supposed to present an award together.

As for the question of whether I avoid my ex or not, no, I don't. I used to, actually, for about a few years after high school, but just recently we've decided to get back together and try again, now that we're a little older and smarter.

No, I'm actually friends with all of my exes, but if I were in her shoes, yes, I'd probably let a little more time elapse before I had to interact with him...especially in public like that. I'm sure she's probably afraid she'd be booed off the stage....and with good reason.

Try to at least. He and his family are......a little strange. The guy will watch me from afar if we happen to be in the same place together. I haven't actually had a conversation with him in years. His mother tells me how beautiful I am, that he has dated nobody since we broke up, and that he still has my picture on his desk. Basically, we should get back together. I keep running into his father in the most random places, like a grocery store I don't usually shop at, and having awkward 2 min. conversations with him.

It depends on the situation, but either way it is weird. Avoidance is the best course of action. Specially if it ended really bad. Honestly, I'm glad she bailed on the MTV awards, not because of her personal life. Cuz she isn't very charismatic. It takes being comfortable in your own skin to do something like that. It would have been a disaster.
