Finally -- a celebrity with a normal baby name. Kourtney Kardashian has named her baby girl Penelope Scotland Disick. (OK, Scotland is a little kooky, but you weren't expecting something totally boring, were you?) Kourtney Kardashian welcomed her second child (and first daughter) with boyfriend Scott Disick early Sunday in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, E! News reports.

kourtney kardashian pregnant

"Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed. Mommy and baby are resting comfortably," Kourtney, 33, tells E! News. "It was a great. She had an easy delivery," momma Kris Jenner tells E! "[Penelope] is so cute. She looks just like [her big brother] Mason. She's so beautiful. We are so happy." So ... what do you think of the name? It kind of goes with the whole "grandma" name trend going on right now, don't you think?

I should have said...equal recognized legal rights...and the answer is no.
for example: couples that separate have more legal difficulties...

    if unmarried
Martha and Tom are unmarried and have a son, David. Martha earns $1,000.00 gross monthly income while Tom earns $3,000.00 gross monthly income. David lives primarily with Martha during the week, but Tom maintains a close relationship with his son including visits every other weekend from Friday at 6:00 p.m. to Sunday at 6:00 p.m., one overnight every Wednesday night, split holidays and six weeks each summer. Martha and Tom have never obtained court orders regarding custody and visitation of their child.

In this example, if Martha attempts to obtain a child support order, Tom would be ordered to pay $403.00 per month assuming that custody and visitation orders are in place. However, without visitation being formally recognized by the court, the child support calculation would be based on a zero time-share, which would then result in Tom being ordered to pay $562.00 per month. That's a difference of $159.00 per month simply because Martha and Tom never bothered to insure that their agreement regarding their son was made an order of the court.

Tom is also in for another shock if, one day, Martha decides that the contact schedule that David has been having with his father is no longer working. Without court orders, Tom has no enforceable rights to see David. Going to the police station will be a waste of time because police insist on seeing court orders before intervening in domestic disputes involving children.

This is not a pretty picture. Tom, like many unmarried fathers, is expected to pay child support and will be prosecuted by the District Attorney if he fails to do so. However, there is no one who will fight as rigorously for Tom should he attempt to enforce his right to be a part of his child's life. Tom's only recourse is to seek court orders that will insure that the time he spends with his child is both recognized and protected.

    more difficult....

only one person can claim children on their tax return if unmarried.

This applies to people who live in the real world. Kourtney and Scott don't. Honestly, if the relationship didn't work out then Scott shouldn't be allowed to see the kids. The guy's a dick.

Penalop Scooterland Dicksick? Was this a failed attempt at sarcasm or something? Look, I can't stand the Kardashians either, but don't go for the ad hominem attacks.

Seeing as agrandizing isn't a word...I'm going to go with "no."

An ad hominem attack is when you attack a person's motives rather than their beliefs. You're attacking Kourtney Kardashian's newborn baby and saying the unique name (which, by the way, isn't even that different apart from the "Scotland") must be some sick PR stunt. If you want to call her an idiot, talk about her wasteful spending.

Nope, I have as much freedom on this site as you do. By dodging my questions and replying with more ad hominem attacks (this time directed at me), you've kind of proven my earlier point.

Surprisingly. I was expecting some stupid name that carried on the "K" tradition like... I don't know, Karoline, Klair, or hell, maybe even Koala. But she picked a shockingly normal name. And one that is even a bit older. Plus I have a cat I named Penelope, so I'm partial. :P

In a world of horrid baby names which plagues both the celebrities and the general public, one annoying celebrity stands above the rest and shows that a normal name isn't a curse...

Hey, at least it's not someone crazy and out there like most of the celebrities name their children these days. It's cute and simple.
