Kobe Bryant's Wife Vanessa Doesn't Want to Be Married to Someone Who Can't Win Championships: Fair or Foul?

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant have called off their divorce, but he still has his work cut out for him: "I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year," she tells New York magazine of her NBA star husband.

But Bryant certainly enjoys her lavish lifestyle. "I’m not really a handbag person anymore," she tells the magazine. “I’ve collected Birkin bags, Chanel 2.55 jumbo flap bags, and the Marc Jacobs Stephen Sprouse collection for Louis Vuitton since I was a teenager. But now, as they say, everyone and their mom is buying a Birkin or a regular size 2.55 bag in black, taupe, or beige. I’ve been sticking to a magenta suede Proenza Schouler bag."

But she says she's not as superficial as people might think. "I think people imagine that I sit at home with all the time in the world to do my hair and makeup, but that’s certainly not the case," she says. "I’m up at 6:30 in the morning with my kids. I’m taking them wherever they need to go," adding that she doesn't use a nanny. But do you think her comment about winning championships was too harsh? Or should Kobe be forever grateful that she forgave him for cheating?

First of all, that's Kobe's wife and I don't like talking about other men's wives. However, her comments shows she isn't a supportive wife. And therefore harsh. And it sounds like she is setting the stage for her way to get out. Maybe this is her way of saying that if he's out working and she should be out too. But mainly, this also shows that she lacks basic common sense, an understanding of championship sports and professional competition in general. Her mouthpiece shows this. Because if she feels that Kobe should win a championship every year than no professional athlete should get married until after they retire. I understand that she's trying to back track, claiming she was misunderstood. We know what she meant. She spoke her mind before thinking about the effects. I often wondered what she did with her time, whether or not she volunteered at schools and in her community, etc. From what I've read all she does is stay home taking her of their children, which is the right thing to do, by the way. I applaud that. And she' s never been reported to have cheated on him either? And didn't bolt when he did? But other than that, she shops and that's it. No volunteering at hospitals, no charity work. Other than looking good, she's about nothing. Sorry Kobe, but you and you're wi...

Other than looking good, she's about nothing. Sorry Kobe, but you and you're wife are in the public media and therefore you set yourself set up for scrutiny. I understand that the Lakers, probably like most professional teams, dined often together and the vets would school the youngsters on how to handle groupies and their finances, etc. Kobe wouldn't listen. They told him to not marry her, etc. but he wanted to and robbed the cradle. Coach Phil Jackson probably knew that Kobe was going to have problems and that's why he was on the scene in Colorado. They were too young and immature when they married. 23 is too young for an American man, but 17 for an American woman? Waaay too young. Generally, not all, but generally at 23 famous and wealthy, he was still in his player stage and still needed to get his desire for lots of women out of the way. Generally, not all young ladies, but generally at 17 and cute, she hadn't even begun to enter her hoochie/coochie momma and her attention whore stages yet. And women need to go through that before they settle down. And she's what now, 30 and never really had a chance to exercise her? She might be heating up now.

HA, HA, HA.....Kobe is in bad shape if he needs to contact me. But thanks for the compliment. What I wrote about the Lakers and other teams dining with the younger players and schooling them is well known. I worked with a lawyer from Philadelphia who wanted to set up a program with former Eagles coach Ray Rhodes that would train rookies on economics and social issues. Coach Rhodes didn't exactly turn her down but didn't try to install a program like that either. But you can easily see the need for this type of a program with the problems that young athletes and entertainers have. Personally I think they want to keep them dumb and stupid so that they can control them. Kobe's family had money, he didn't need economics training, but he obviously did he needed social training. Getting married without a prenuptial? The past year or so I have been listening to Tariq Nasheed's MACKLESSONSRADIO.COM. He rightly teaches that we think that we should know women naturally and we don't and we should ask experienced men how to handle certain women and situations, etc. We don't do this and think that if we do, we're weak. Whereas women talk about us all the time.

...Foul and tacky is what it is. How many championships has she won??? Where exactly is she competing in the game of life. She is raising her kids...well so is every body else who has kids and no nanny. What is she suppose to get a trophy for choosing to NOT have a nanny??? I don't think so. In high school she managed to date the guy that was going places...aside from riding his coat tails, what EXACTLY has she accomplished besides having kids with Kobe Bryant. It is 2012, besides having a pretty face by some peoples standards, what in the HELL else does she have going for her??? She has daughters, is she teaching them to marry well but to still get their own, or just be like mommy; marry well and make babies and then just exist without a real purpose???

But not quite as foul as I expected. What she means is, if a person is sacrificing time away from his family, it should be fruitful, otherwise that person is being neglectful. But the way she phrased was very foul indeed..

I think she has a lot of nerve, when she sits on her butt and collects. I don't condone Kobe's cheating and I have lost a lot of respect for him, at the same time she needs to realize that she is able to buy her purses because of Kobe. You are doing what you do best and that's being a nanny/mom...

This question was about his wife, not you and being gay, nor gay marriage. If you don't want to go there again then don't. If you want to get married to a woman then find a state that allows that. I've been to a few gay marriages. I was simply responding the the question if I offended you I am sorry.

No , no you didnt offend me,That takes , well no-one on here has as yet, peeved me off, with their sillyshyte but no offence taken YET, LOL :) you put your last post to me, "if you". and my response wasnt that clear as i just read it again. Im not gay, lol was having a bit of a dig at what you said. sorry. :) If you are driving someone away with your nastyarse attitude, its natural they start to pull away and look around. Doesnt mean you have to go there while with another. I believe if you want something else, lose what you have first. I have done it when i was young, it has been done to me, Its wrong, i grew up and saw things differently. maybe i remembered to engage the morals MOTHER gave me. Have a good day.

Well lets just remember that he cheated on his wife. If she shoots her mouth off out of anger then well so be it what woman wouldn't. She stayed which is commendable for her. I wouldn't call her a gold digger because she could have divorced him and made a bundle. So in the end the ball as they say is in his court.

she could have but that smallish payout would only last a short time. Golddiggers arnt in it for the little bits they can take, they are greedy, if she wasnt in it for money and semi fame, she wouldnt care if he lost a championship or not. he was wrong for apparently screwing around on her, and she is stupid for staying.

Ask yourself this.... if Kobe Bryant went bankrupt would she stick around? You would think the response of a loving wife would be.... I support my husband and know he works his ass off so I can live my lavish lifestyle. Championship or not I'm proud of him.

the way it seems to be over there, esp with the upperclass chicks, is You could be stunner with a bod to die for, awesome personality. fun loving and loyal, but if you are a nobody with nothing, then thats how they treat you, until such times as you can GIVE them the life they want. Shyte I'd be happier working to get what i want, than to rely on a man for it.
