They were only a non-litigious married couple for 72 days, but more than a year after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, her estranged husband Kris Humphries sees no "urgency" to finalize the split — even though Kim is pregnant with Kanye West's baby.

"What is really going on here is that an 'urgency' in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something the Respondent had nothing to do with, is perceived by Plaintiff as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial," Humphries' attorney Marshall Waller states in a motion to halt Kardashian's request to set an immediate trial date to finalize the long-simmering divorce, according to E! News.

Kardashian has maintained that Humphries wants an annulment rather than a divorce … meaning she'd have to admit the marriage was a "fraud," which she denies.

Kim and Kris aren't the only famous couple who took forever to get in and out of divorce court. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separated in May 2011 after it emerged that he had fathered a child with a household employee. She filed for divorce in July 2011 … but the split still isn't final, and he says he still wants her back.

I think that Kris Humphrey's is being childish, his relationship is over between he and Kim Kardashian, and he should lick his wounds and manly move on. The respectful thing for him to do is to try to resolve this marriage as quickly as possible. Many women that find themselves with child out of wedlock would love to marry before the child is born. To many couples this is important to them, so, I just think Kris is having fun dragging this thing out, I think he's feeling a sense of power.

She is as much at fault as he is, if she granted the annulment, then it would all be over....but she doesn't want to so they keep going around and around here.

Kris does not want an annulment, he's just being a jerk, he was a jerk on the reality show. Everyone saw it but Kim, and when she did, it was too late.

Kim is established with or without Kris or Kanye, I believe that Kris might have had some feelings for Kim, but I have to say he was a jerk. Everyone saw it but Kim, I think that Kim in the beginning cared for him as well, but when she saw the jerk in him, they were pretty much at the alter. I think after that she tried hard to make things work, but Kris kept being a jerk. He might have been listening to what others was telling him what to do and what not to do. I don't think that he saw the split coming, and now he wants revenge. Kim is a free spirit, and she's been use to living a privileged life from the time she was a child to an adult. It was her father that taught her how to make money, and as a young girl, she learned and learned well, and then she passed her knowledge and experience to her sisters. When it comes to she and Kris, it's not about money or revenge, she just wants out, and she would like to be out so that she can have her baby and move on. Kris should grant her a divorce and do likewise, move on.

Um...so? Again she can get out if she grants the annulment. I can't blame him for wanting his record clear....she doesn't want to grant an annulment....why is that such an issue?

Truthfully, I don't know, the whole situation is a game, money is probably the huge factor. It's my understanding that Kris feels entitled to some money because he feels that Kim made a lot of money from the wedding being aired on the reality show. Supposedly, the money that was made was contributed to charity.

Normally with an annulment he wouldn't get any money (because it is saying the marriage didn't exist on grounds that one or more parties went into it in a fraudulent manner)...but it could hurt Kim's reputation.

Edit: also with the annulment he "should" get the engagement ring back.

Then I can understand why Kim doesn't want an annulment, (1) she didn't go into this marriage based on fraudulent pretenses. (2) You know you either like Kim or you don't, she has been through some things that the average person would have been severely damaged. Not Kim, people like her, she's a sought after individuals, and her reputation seems to be in tact. Money is not an object for Kim Kardashian, but for Kris it is, he's not raising a whole lot of sand on the basketball court, he get's boo'd frequently, his basketball career could abruptly come to an end, so it would be to his advantage to try and get every dime that he can from Kim. As far as the rings are concerned, the engagement ring was given to her, and then when they were pronounced man and wife, the wedding ring was placed on her finger. Kris does not deserve to have those rings back! Most men don't even consider taking the rings back, I cannot say it enough, Kris is a jerk.

Again, he feels "duped" so he wants the annulment....he won't get anything but the ring and MOST guys get the ring back voluntarily unless they cheated....so not so much a jerk move....if anything she is a jerk for not giving it back.

Money wise, it is a smart option to go with the annulment, on Kim's part.

How do you know the marriage isn't a fraud? I don't know that it is...but it certainly seems like it.

Well, he's a full grown man, and he was not duped into his marriage with Kim, his feelings are wounded. Kris is the man, and that's how he represented himself on the sitcom. He was not going to be like Bruce, Rob, Scott and Lamar, he was going to man up, and not let his woman run things. Well he was blindsided, he was so caught up in his arrogance that he didn't see the divorce coming. He really thinks that he is all of that, and in reality, he's the only one who feels that way. No matter what you think, or I think, it has been developed and reported, the wedding was not a fraud. Kim's wedding was what she wanted, it had nothing to do with fraud. If Kim is a jerk, she's about one of the smartest jerks that I have ever witnessed. Kris wants her to play in his hands and agree to an annulment, and this would make him feel better about the whole situation, no matter how you look at it, the annulment thing would smooth his ego. I've been in the world for a long, long time, I've worked in law offices and with the judicial system, and I have been married twice, and in all of my years, it is rare that the men get the rings back. Like I said a gift is a gift.

There is no way for you or I to know if it was a fraud....he feels it is and that is enough to fight for an annulment.

Also, it is not a sit-com, it is a "reality" show...and watching it gives us no insight into them as people.....I also have no reason to watch such trash.

What is Humphries reason for holding out? Is he expecting a miraculous reconciliation? Is the baby really his? Maybe the baby is really Reggie Bush's? I think Humphries wants to extract some kind of revenge against Kim K. to try to humiliate her in some way!
