Kim and Kanye Mimic Jesus in Brazil: Did They Go Too Far?

Kim Kardashian and baby daddy Kanye West are vacationing in Brazil and have made the news with what seems like an innocent enough pose, but could be fuel for the anti-Kimye fire. While touring the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Kim stood with her arms out to the side, mimicking the stance of Christ on the cross. Then, Kanye put his arms up too, posing for the photographers.

Kim Kardashian Jesus Christ
This is not the first time Kanye has been criticized for Jesus impressions. His 2006 Rolling Stone magazine cover, which featured the rapper wearing a crown of thorns with dried blood on his face, did not bode well with Christians. But it seems Kanye is a fan of Jesus, recently sporting a Christ T-shirt at a Hurricane Sandy relief concert and performing his song "Jesus Walks."

For now, no one seems to be making a big deal of the Kim and Kanye pose, but chances are it's just a matter of time before the backlash begins. What do you think: Did Kim and Kanye go too far?

This world has gotten so bad... Yes indeed We are living in the times of Noah!! Jesus will return we don't know thee hour but my heart hurts for all you loss souls...
Jesus is the only way to eternal life. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savor and your soul will be saved if not you will burn in the lake of fire...

Revelation 19:20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Not cool to mock Jesus even jokingly, especially in a heavily Catholic country like Brazil! People have been "disappeared" for far less offenses!!

As much as I hate BOTH of them (*shudder*), it's unfair to slam them for something like this. While it is kind of offensive, I'm sure plenty of tourists do it, so it's not that big of a deal. We are just giving them more attention, so just let it drop.

My brother worked in Rio for two years for an American Company and met his wife there. I hear that it is beautiful outside of the poverty. Hope that has improved.

I am a christian and Brazilian, i think the pose is not a big deal at all, after all, that is a statue Not JESUS himself. Exadus 20.4 says "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below." It is a gorgeous tourist site "NOT JESUS." Besides, no one knows what Jesus look like. l And YES Jesus not only lived in this earth, he still is very much alive in heaven. However, anyone is free to believe whatever they choose to. Although,One needs to remember that his beliefs do not change that Jesus is the son of God and that there is no other way to the father.
