Pollstar announced this week that out of all the popular summer tours, country mega-stars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw's Brothers of the Sun tour is the most lucrative, grossing $4,272,326.
Former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters is the runner-up with "only" $2,086,906 in gross profits, securing Chesney and McGraw's No. 1 spot. Other top contenders are Van Halen, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Drake. Have you caught any of these shows so far this summer? If not, which summer tour would you like to attend?

If you think Lady Gaga and Beyonce are as good as it gets, perhaps you are in the financial part of he music business and not a musician. Perhaps we have very different tastes in music. I will just leave it at that. I am also a drummer so you can't be all bad.reply - Drummerboy Cleaver62 2012/07/20 23:09:35 (edited)

Sorry, I am not a commercial music guy. Always been out of the main stream beginning back in the late 70s when punk was the rage. I have no need or desire for corporate music crap. I think the Grammys are bullcrap because they never seem to represent anyone I like. All the awards don't reward creativity or cutting edge or new sound. It is all based on sales and money. I am so happy that the computer age has made it so easy for me to seek and find cutting edge music that means something more than just money and album sales.reply - Squatch Cleaver62 2012/07/20 13:00:30
+1A lot of Country today is more like the classic Rock of the 70's and 80's - thus the 2 world class guitarists mentioned - Before the whole Bunghole Boys era. I would put their musicians up against anything "Coldplay" or modern bands could offer. As far as hating country music - I do not really care - to each their own.reply - Drummerboy Squatch 2012/07/20 17:58:49
