The public was pretty tough on Jessica Simpson before her pregnancy, never mind during, when she gained a reported 70 pounds. And now that she's trying to lose the baby weight, people aren't being much nicer ... except for Hugh Hefner's ex Kendra Wilkinson.
"That just breaks my heart," Wilkinson, 27, tells omg! from Yahoo!. "I feel for her. I was in the same boat. People just need to mind their own business. That's a woman who just gave birth. Her first priority right now is her child. Her first priority is not losing the weight. You should be proud of her for that. A lot of people just dump their kids off at nannies and lose the weight overnight. We should all be proud of her for being real and taking control and making priorities."

Well said, Kendra! The star of WE tv's "Kendra on Top" has talked openly about the 60 pounds she gained after giving birth to baby Hank in 2009, and her postpartum depression. "I looked in the mirror and I said, 'I'm fat,'" Wilkinson told ABC News last year.
We're sure Jessica will be in fighting form again in no time ... but in the meantime, do you think people are too hard on her? And is there too much pressure on celebs (and women in general) to stay skinny after having a baby?

birdie1224 2012/07/13 20:49:41Yes, she JUST had a baby.+19Society puts so much pressure on women to be skinny. For goodness sake she has a newborn. They need all the attention they can get. Let her be she"ll lose the weight on her own time but raising her child is a top priority than being skinny

people are different, though she gained a bit more than required.
just for a warning, my mom gained as much with me, but later became helplessly obese with huge health problems. though no one caught her at all with eating much. at that time, medicine had not that plenty of tools and they were wary. today she would have got some hormonal treatment to save her health.
Society gives such a hard time to celebrities because they have nothing better to do than look up to what they wish they could be. It sickens me that people forget that *le gasp!* these people are ALSO human beings.
Congrats to your wife, I've heard it is harder after the first, but most say you still lose the weight, it just takes longer.
criticizing J.Simpson's weight gain is just ridiculous, right?
May as well criticize her for having blonde hair and for her eye color.
She will work through this and she will wind up ok. Let her be a new mother: she has the health and welfare of her baby on her mind right now, not so much losing the baby weight. She will work on that at her own pace.
I think that she doesn't need to lose the weight immediately, or too quickly, but I don't think it's healthy to put on that much weight during pregnancy.
