"We eloped on New Year's Day of last year and we got to spend a couple nights in the Caribbean and then we hopped on a plane to Iraq," the USO entertainer tells Parade. "That was part of our honeymoon. It was so romantic! No, it was just that I had already committed to going over there and I wasn't going to cancel because that wouldn't have been right. But Kyle loved it," she says.
Pickler, who came in sixth place on "American Idol" in 2006, just released her new album "100 Proof." But working with USO ranks as one of the country singer's biggest accomplishments.
"Out of everything that I've ever been able to be a part of, the USO is the one that I'm most proud of and honored to be able to work with. What they're doing for our military is so great. I've loved taking a little piece of home to our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan," she tells Parade.
