Katy Perry performed this weekend as part of President Obama’s Inaugural celebration in Washington D.C. At the 2013 Kid's Inaugural Concert on Saturday, the “Firework” singer appeared onstage in a red, white and blue one piece, short-shorts ensemble, with star trimmed bustier, tiny top hat and blue tails a la Uncle Sam.
She completed the look with fishnet stockings, bright red pumps and American flags painted on her fingernails. The ‘50s pin-up style outfit had some wondering if it were slightly inappropriate not just for the inauguration but for a kid’s party no less.
First Lady Michelle Obama and the Vice President’s wife, Jill Biden, hosted the evening. Usher and some of the cast of “Glee” also performed at the event, which was also attended by Sasha and Malia Obama along with children of military families.
The night was held in recognition of the sacrifices these kids make and the maturity level they need to have to deal with a military lifestyle. But were they mature enough for Perry’s ensemble?
