Katy Perry has had a charmed life. Not only is the 27-year-old rich, beautiful and talented with a body to die for, her "Teenage Dream" album matched Michael Jackson's Hot 100 record for the most number one songs off a single album. Nevertheless, she's kinda sick of being famous.

Asked by Teen Vogue if she ever sees herself "getting tired of being famous," Katy responds, "I'm tired of being famous already! But I'm not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do. It's quite a delicate creature -- it's a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you. I still want to be as approachable and relatable as possible -- when I meet fans and they're crying, I'll say, 'Calm down, there's nothing to cry about.'"

"Disgusting," eh? Well, in other parts of the interview, Katy seems refreshingly down to earth. "I don't need to grind it into anyone's head that I'm popular. If you like my music, great, and if you don't, whatever. I'm going to keep making it either way," she says.

And her success comes with hard work, which she wants to reveal in her upcoming movie. "I think sometimes [people] look at me and wonder, How is it possible that she continues to have this kind of success? Why are the stars so aligned for her? But, while that is a factor, it's not the whole story. I also work my tail off!"

There are some people like that yeah. Not many. I see a lot of people my age who want to be famous for the sake of being famous. They don't see the real value nor the cost of fame.

For instance, Angelina Jolie has helped thousands of people in africa thanks to her fame and fortune and have all but pretty much disappeared from the limelight. Then there are those that fell into the other category.

So yeah, I agree with you ^_^

thanks for agreeing with me, because its true look at Sara McLaughan, to Fall Out Boy. They both put a lot out there, like look at those who don't have proverty and the education, and they are called the invisible children. But for those who do let the fame get to there head, get lost and then fade out of the picture like look at Selena Gomez, I'm not h8in on her but she only does one fund for unifec. Jonas Brothers to Justin Bieber take on a lot of different stuff, like pencils of promise, text guard etc because they know they can all make a difference. To also promoting a healthier enviroment like how many people would pitch in to do that. Not very many, which is so sad :(

Because some do it for the joy of what they do. Of creating something. Of creating a character. Of playing someone else. The people who only do huge big budget films maybe they want to be famous and make tons of money. There are others how make somejong to day something. Make a statememt. Be heard. Or be whatever they want to be .

"Last year, Matt Damon said his friends Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are "like prisoners" in their million-dollar homes. Boo hoo."

I can understand the "poor little rich girl" response, but I think it's childish and lacks a deeper understanding and empathy. When celebrities like Katy Perry are still doing things to stay in the spotlight, it's one thing. But I can't think of anything Angelina or Brad have done in a while that merits being constantly spied on. Sometimes, when you're done, you're done, and I can understand the desire to resume a normal life.

I also sort of understand what Katy Perry means about fame being a nasty by-product. In some cases, if you're talented at what you love to do, and what you love to do is sing or act, you can't help drawing the spotlight to yourself. And in other cases, maybe you thought you wanted to be famous only to realize it's not what you thought, but it's too late. Once you're famous, you're famous. I really do understand the "boo hoo, cry me a river" response, but it sounds a lot like sour grapes.

I was contemplating Lady Gaga but at the same time I stick with what I put for the simple fact: If you're tired then stop putting out songs every other week. You dont give people enough time in between songs to get to learn the first one before the next and the next comes. You tired? But yet you still put music out? Get over it

They all have the right to complain a little bit. Everyone complains about their jobs. What they need to stop doing is acting like babies over it. Quit shooting the finger, saying that you're being raped, etc. With that profession the negative aspects of fame are something you should expect and just deal with as they come in the most mature manner as possible.

Do any of them realize that they could stop any time they want?! Wait a couple of years and I can gurantee you that nobody will remember more than half of the names up there. They should be a little more grateful! They're getting paid by the millions and billions while so many "normal" people can't even find jobs! And Kristen Stewart complains about everything for someone who can't even act! I was surprised by her picture. I don't think I remember ever seeing her smile! She could show a little more appreciation for the fans who got her where she is, even though she clearly didn't deserve it!

I'm honest tired of this fool. He didn't deserve the fame in the first place. If it wasn't for Usher, this guy would still be singing on YouTube. We should have left him there.

If she doesn't like being famous, maybe should have not allowed herself to be posted all over the place. What about YouTube and places like that? I don't feel sorry for famous people when they complain about being famous. They got into that area themselves, and you can't tell me they didn't at first desire to be famous.

OK Justin. I realize you've hit it big and have tons of fans, but perhaps you should have thought about the downsides of being famous before you released the videos onto Youtube. Besides, once you're famous, the only way out is to consistently stay out of the public eye, which is something your fans wouldn't enjoy, and would possibly hound your twitter and website, asking you why you aren't going out anymore.
Just my thoughts, universe. Nothing more, nothing less.

I understand why some celebrities complain. They've got paparazzi in their face and fans stalking them. It might be fun at first, but after a week or so, it would get incredibly annoying! However, they ARE filthy rich. If they really want privacy, they can make it happen. I picked Kristen simply because she seems to complain about everything. The picture in this poll is the first picture I have ever seen her smile in. You would think she could at least force a smile for her fans a little more often considering they are the reason she gets paid.

So many who would give anything to be in the same place as she is and she's whining about it? Come on, seriously.
Maybe she should have thought about the fame associated with becoming an artist before actually doing so. -.-

...so if a rape victim was paid tons of money it would be ok?...so if we exploit celebs, let them be poked and proded and put in dangerous situations, but they didnt get paid a lot that would be wrong?

But the celebs at least had an idea of what they were getting themselves into beforehand. They complain now, but at one point they chose fame. And getting stalked by paparazzi and fans is part of what goes along with it.

That's ridiculous...No celeb asks to be stalked, have people threaten to kill them, get into car accidents. That's like the idiotic comment "she wore a short skirt, she was asking for it", to continue on with the rape analogy. These people just want to do what they love to do, to entertain on screen. That doesn't mean we have any right to them when they're off screen...that's their life, becoming famous doesn't mean you forfeit that right.
