I'd take their commitment to freedom of religion more seriously if acknowledged that the Scientology equivalent of "protestants" have it too.

I do know she will get structure and hopefully come out with a good education. She is such a beautiful little girl just like her mother.

If that's what the primary custodian of the child feels comfortable with,then so be it!

Yes and No.

There should have been a third option. I don't like Catholicism, as it is just as duplicitous, sanctimonious and self serving as any other religion on earth, and more than most. However, that said, I would rather raise my child with its general standards, than any other religion generally available. The basic Cristian concepts, are not wholly unacceptable ideas in which to raise a child, and do contain concepts and idealism's that are clear enough for any child to grasp.

I would not be willing, to let the Scientologists influence the rearing of my children. I cannot, nor would I, slander the Scientologists for their belief structure. However, I don't feel comfortable with their basic concepts and idealism's. Further, I think their teachings, may be too abstract and confusing, for a young mind to grasp. I think that, of the choices presented, the proper decision was made...Just a thought...

The Holy Roman Catholic Church was started directly by Jesus and St. Peter. Turn Catholic Church has over one billion followers. The most active of any other religion having to do with Jesus Christ. Scientology is a fake religion created by people who thought science is correct over God.

A reply to the whole cult thing. Sociologically speaking, all religions start out as cults, including Christianity. The apostle Peter preached that women should not have children because the lord was coming soon. It was part of the reason why he was imprisoned. The state needed children to fight in all the wars in contact zones. In the end the lord still hasn't come and what Peter actually taught was a little nuts. But what ever.

The HCOB you cite is almost certainly a fake. Hubbard did say that "there was no Christ" (you can even find a recording of him saying it on youtube).

Circulating it gives credence to Scientology's claim that the leaked Scientology materials are fake / doctored (when in fact all other leaked material have had their authenticity extensively corroborated).

I am blocked from posting youtube videos, otherwise I would have. Do a search for Charles Manson & Scientology. There is a tape of Charles Manson and L. Ron Hubbard, when Manson was locked up for the Hollywood murders. He was trying to get a refund for Scientology "lessons" from the cult.

I know Manson had a brief involvement. It's the HCOB about Jesus being a "lover of young boys" that appears to be fake.

There is a youtube audio video: Charles manson vs. L. Ron Hubbard, where it states he was in it for 2 years and spent thousands of dollars on Scientology courses. He was trying to get a refund from Hubbard...LOL..

On a related note, on the little trending now" blurb says "Is catholicism better than sociology", one of the SH workers might want to fix that.

Soda Head management intentionally rigged this poll so that it would fall in favor of Catholicism. They obviously didn't want Atheists to have a voice and they also knew the majority of folks on SH were probably Catholic or Christian - and that the Scientologists were very, very few in number. Think about it - by providing only those 2 options - they were making Atheists choose in favor of Catholicism! I think whoever created this poll was doing this intentionally. I think that is highly offensive and unethical for SH Management to have created a poll so tainted.

The other point is that to my knowledge - there are no schools that teach the Scientology religion to 6 year olds. There are schools that teach academics using the study methods that Hubbard came up with - but that has absolutely nothing to do with the religion. Therefore, the entire basis of the poll is a fallacy.

Scientology is a cult, not a religion.
You don't have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic school. I had a mix of different religions in my classes... but one thing was different then public schools... we all loved and respected each other like an extended family. A lot of teasing, as brothers and sisters will do, but no real bullying. We also had a very well rounded education including the sciences. The main goal is the education.... no one tries to convert or damn's you to hell. Smaller classes also allow for individual attention.

Good for Katie. I figured she wouldn't waste any time getting Suri out of that complete mess and she hasn't! Now she'll be brought up like a normal little girl as she should be.

Scientology is not a religion. Catholism is a relgion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. There is no comparison here.

I have worked with scientologist when I lived in Miami, and it was the weirdest atmosphere to be in. We all faked our attention and yes no problem and yes we agree because the job was good. But they tried to push in no matter what.

It's not better because religion/cults to control the masses...all is man made so all is corrupt... Even the Bible says truth no man...Nothing under the Sun is new! All is Vain!!!!! Onelove-
