Katie Couric to Interview Manti Te'o: Biggest Televised Celeb Interview Ever?
Katie Couric-Manti Te'o
Score one for Couric in the fight for celeb interview "gets." The talk-show host will interview the Notre Dame linebacker in his first on-camera TV interview since the fake girlfriend scandal emerged.
Martin Bashir-Michael Jackson
The King of Pop admitted to sharing a bed with children in an interview with British journalist Martin Bashir, which aired on ABC in 2003 (introduced by Barbara Walters).
Last week, in what may have been Oprah's Biggest Interview Ever, disgraced cycling champ Lance Armstrong finally admitted to doping -- and lying about doping.
Diane Sawyer-Whitney Houston
In the infamous 2002 interview, the late pop diva told Sawyer that she makes "too much money to ever smoke crack." "Crack is whack," she explained.
In a 2005 segment on "Oprah," Cruise jumped on Oprah's couch to declare his love for Katie Holmes. And the world never saw him quite the same way ...
Matt Lauer-Tom Cruise
In a 2005 interview, Cruise blasted psychiatry and Brooke Shields and slammed Matt Lauer as "glib."
"Today" show-Charlie Sheen
It's hard to pick the best interview from Sheen's meltdown, but we're partial to the "Today" show clip where he uttered the famous phrase, "Duh, winning."
On Friday, Te'o told ESPN that he was not part of an elaborate hoax, but admitted that he "tailored" his stories so people would think he had met "Lennay Kekua," the woman he believed to be his girlfriend but had never met, "before she passed away."
"I wasn't faking it. I wasn't part of this," he said, adding that he had received an apology from alleged hoax mastermind Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, a 22-year-old who lives in California.
Te'o and his parents will appear on Couric's syndicated talk show on Thursday. But will the interview be more shocking than Diane Sawyer's Whitney Houston interview? Or Oprah's recent chat with Lance Armstrong? From Katie-Manti to Martin Bashir-Michael Jackson, click through our slideshow and let us know: Who landed the biggest celeb interview ever?
