On Friday, Te'o told ESPN that he was not part of an elaborate hoax, but admitted that he "tailored" his stories so people would think he had met "Lennay Kekua," the woman he believed to be his girlfriend but had never met, "before she passed away."
"I wasn't faking it. I wasn't part of this," he said, adding that he had received an apology from alleged hoax mastermind Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, a 22-year-old who lives in California.
Te'o and his parents will appear on Couric's syndicated talk show on Thursday. But will the interview be more shocking than Diane Sawyer's Whitney Houston interview? A lot of people probably forgot about it by now. Either that or they dont know who he is. And before the story broke out i didnt. But then again im not a ND fan. But i will say i really dont think at all he was gay, nor do i think he knew the girl was fake at all.reply

If you can recall this interview a year from now then perhaps it is the biggest but I doubt if alot of Americans will still remember - or wish to remember - the fact that a Notre Dame linebacker was hoaxed into thinking his online girlfriend had died. While it is a sad occurrence - it says a great deal about our society that we are addicted to 'news' like this that effected 1 person instead of volunteering to help the 10s , 100s or 1,000s of people in this great Nation with food, shelter, justice.reply
