Kathie Lee Gifford Says Taylor Swift Crashed a Wedding: Awesome or Inappropriate?

You'd think Taylor Swift would know better. The 22-year-old megastar apparently crashed a wedding last weekend with her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy. That is, according to Kathie Lee Gifford.

Gifford says Kennedy was invited to the event, but didn't RSVP until an hour before the ceremony. The bride's mom asked him not to come ... and he came anyway, along with his famous girlfriend.

"She didn’t know if he was coming or not. She heard that he might be, but he got in touch with her an hour earlier, and said, basically, ‘Can I bring my girlfriend?’” Gifford said on the "Today" show. "She said very nicely, 'please do not come.' Guess what? They came.

Gifford is the stepmother of Victoria Gifford Kennedy, the mother of the bride. “It’s the bride’s day, and that was Vicki’s other concern. ‘This is my daughter’s day and I would appreciate it if you would not come,’” Gifford said.

According to Gifford, the couple was asked to leave -- twice -- and they finally did. But Swift's rep has denied the "wedding crashers" story, saying, "Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there." If it's true that Taylor "crashed" the wedding, do you think that's awesome? Or totally inappropriate?

Parents who try to live vicariously through their children need to be shot, stuffed and mounted for being pathetic.

If the BRIDE invited the couple, or even one of them, then the mother can STFU and stay out of it. Too bad it's the BRIDE'S day, and not the pathetic mother trying to live vicariously and make all the decisions.

Hahaha sorry if you couldn't tell, I have issues with absurdly controlling parents, when their children are grown ass adults.

I think the Mother and Kathie Lee are screw-up. Conor Kennedy was invited and took his girl friend. " bride thanked her profusely for being there".. The bride seemed to like Taylor being there and the Mother was being a jerk. To me Coner was family, was invited but the dear mom was well mom-zilla.

This is not really about Ms.Taylor, The issue is Kennedy crash the wedding that He was invited to. yes He should have give more notice, but it not a real issue because the more the marrier the event becomes.

Well, it's inappropriate to crash a wedding. Even if you are famous or rich. Yes, one of them was invited but there is an RSVP for a reason. If you say you're not coming don't rock up on the day with an hours warning and act like they should've been expecting you. There's questions like seating and food to think about if they come at that time, and even if there isn't, that's just plain rude. Have a bit of respect.

She should crash Kanye West's wedding. When the preacher asks if there is any just cause why the wedding should not proceed, Taylor should shout out her objections and try to convince Kanye and the audience that Beyonce would make a better bride and a better wife!

I don't usually get nasty about anyone, but Kathy Lee Gifford has a popcycle stick up her ass! I don't like her fake snobby butt and she needs to lighten up, and it isn't up to her if the step daughter wanted her there. and It wasn't even Taylor Swift's fault it was her boyfriend that was envited to begin with and then waited to long to answer. What ever....kathy Lee Gifford is just a big snobby instigater. I really feel this way about her, I can't help it! LOL

A man uses about 10,000 words a day. A woman uses an average 25,000 and Kathie Lee Gifford is like a gattling gun and seems only to stop long enough to reload her lungs and fire out some more. She seems to be an authority only on Cody, so who really listens? Cetainly not me! (This is more time that I have put in on her than I have in the last 20 years!)

I think it's inappropriate to crash weddings but I can't blame Taylor Swift on this one, she probably thought they were invited.... her BF is the one that was invited (if they RSVPed, which he didn't) and then UN-invited. Later and then crashed it.

How is it that Swift crashed the wedding if she went with her boyfriend who was invited? Maybe Kennedy didn't tell her the brides mother didn't want her there and opted to take her anyway. If that's the case, then Swift shouldn't be held accountable for what the boyfriend chose to do.

You're right...why is everyone saying she crashed it if she went with her boyfriend ? If he was told not to come, who's to say he even told her about the conversation ? He was invited so he took her with him. Why are we blaming her ? Because his name in the headlines wouldn't be as interesting.

Exactly! If he opted to take her as his plus 1, then it's on him. If he didn't RSVP until last minute, then it's on him. Where is any of this Swifts fault? I mean, as far as she's concerned, I could take her or leave her....but let's put the blame where it should be. If I were dating someone and he said, "Hey. I have this wedding to go to and I really don't want to go alone. Do you want to come with me?" My reply would be, "Ok. Could be fun." I'm sure she didn't assume it would become a major incident.

Why would anyone say that Swift crashed the party? She may have been totally unaware of the circumstances and was just going with her boyfriend and got caught in the middle. Kathie Lee Gifford is a moron.
