Three days ago, Katherine Webb was just a fairly anonymous, former Miss Alabama who was dating a college quarterback. But thanks to sports commentator Brett Musburger’s gushing during the Monday night battle between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, she’s now a household name.

It all started during the broadcast when the 73-year-old announcer was taken with the 23-year-old pageant queen. She was there to support her boyfriend of just over a month, AJ McCarron. But rather than talk about the QB’s moves on the field, Musburger raved about how beautiful his date was. ESPN went so far as to issue an apology on Tuesday morning.
Still, the die had been cast. Webb blew up on Twitter, gaining hundreds of thousands of new followers and Donald Trump even tweeted his intent to ask her to be a judge at the next Miss USA Pageant.

Webb capitalized on her newfound fame as a guest on the “Today” show on Wednesday morning. Addressing whether or not she thought Musburger’s words were inappropriate Webb told Matt Lauer, "If he would have said something along the line of that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think that would have been a little bit different. The fact that he said we were beautiful and gorgeous, I don't see why any woman wouldn't be flattered by that." What about you? Would you be flattered or freaked out by the commentator’s comments?

Flattered+6The comments were innocent and just a simple complement. And, ESPN gave an apology? This is exactly why I stopped watching any sports on ESPN years ago. ESPN has become a pussy run, overly-sensitive pony show. The only people offended by this are probably older, insecure, women who no longer feel pretty, who get upset hearing an older man commenting about a younger woman because they really wish they were still young and beautiful. Well let me tell you something, as you get older you dont all of a sudden stop noticing attractive people. You can still look at someone and know they are attractive.

Neither, but honestly that behavior was unprofessional. What would your reaction be if a woman said the same about a female athlete's partner?
And it's Brent not Brett dumb asses!
Edit: If Musburger were 33 and not 73 this wouldn't even be news.
