Justin Timberlake Says Marine Corps Ball Changed His Life: Sweet or Sappy?

Remember a few months back when a bunch of marines kept asking celebrities to be their guest for the upcoming Marine Corps Ball? Well, the event was this Saturday in Virginia and one of the celebs actually went -- Mr. Justin Timberlake.

But not only did the singer-turned-actor attend the ball with his date -- Marine Cpl. Kelsey de Santis -- Timberlake wrote on his blog that the event actually changed his life. "I glanced around the room at young men and women, spouses and soldiers...I felt so proud to be there. I felt like I was getting a chance to be among my heroes," Timberlake wrote.

He also added "...To all of you that serve every day for us, ensuring our freedom, I say: my deepest gratitude to you...I've met so many of my heroes...From Michael Jordan to Michael Jackson. And, nothing makes me feel more honor and pride than when I get to meet one of you. Last night changed my life and I will never forget it."

We must say, those are some very kind words. And let's not forget about Timberlake's "Friends With Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis. She'll be attending the next Marine Corps Ball in North Carolina with her own date this coming Friday.

I chose "sweet" only because the choices were so absolutely bogus. Could you SH Clingons come up with something better?

I think what Timberlake found, was that instead of bloated, over paid fakes he's used to surrounding himself with, he found in it's stead, the very representation of honor, courage, integrity, and fidelity.......the best and brightest, from the rocks of the Old Breed to the youngest, highly trained Marine of today. If you've never attended a Marine Corps Ball, you've missed a hallowed ceremony and standing among men who are a breed apart......a special fraternity and a title that stays with you to the grave.
I'm glad he went, and I'm glad it was an eye opening experience for him. I hope it was life transforming.

Very sweet of him to say, he certainly didn't need to attend and maybe it put things into perspective for him. The military is a selfless and demanding profession.

    Choices aren't the best.
Living in the entertainment industry, it was probably an impressive experience seeing people being authentic compared to fashion conscious chameleons always on the make.

He may be just BS'ing, and I'm not saying he is, but I'm sure it did him some good to be around some people of character rather than just a bunch of characters.

There should have been another option instead of "sweet" (didnt want to use that) but anyways.....
I think Timberlake was very humbled by what he experienced, and thats good because maybe his eyes were opened and he realizes even more than ever the sacrifice and determination that our men and women of our armed forces put into the safety and freedom of our country

I hope it was true AND sincere, and not some latent PR stunt....
ALL of the services, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines deserve our utmost respect...they protect our freedoms 24/7..365....And their families for giving their children, wives or husbands to this country's protection. It is a high price to pay to protect the freedoms that the ungrateful take for granted.

I love Justin Timberlake. I think he is extremely talented in many ways and he also seems well-grounded and manages to stay out of trouble.

As for Mila Kunis, does anyone know where that ball in NC is at?!

I think it's in Greenville, NC or somewhere near there, I think. Hopefully someone else on here will know.

What is he going to say..."I got bullied into going because my PR people said it might hurt my image if I back out"? This was a matter of maintaining positive image in that Justin impulsively said he would do it...and backed out, at first. Justin is a good guy. Likeable in person. Does things for others. But this particular instance was for other reasons than him being a good guy.

and no offence, but you seem like a very negative person. it doesn't matter why he went, and truthfully he is the only one other than God that knows the truth, but who are you to say anything negative. Give the guy a big hand, he did something good and made a wonderful woman happy. And yes I say wonderful because she would give her life so you can have your negative oppinion. Just how I feel about it so don't get negative on me too!
