It has been announced that Timberlake has been named the most charitable star of 2009.

According to reports, the Grammy winning singer raised $9,198,072 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children - a cause dear to his heart.

Also doing quite well when it comes to helping others, Madonna came in second after earning $5,501,835 for her Raising Malawi foundation.

Rounding out the top five were Pamela Anderson (PETA), Oprah Winfrey (Oprah’s Angel Network) and U2 frontman Bono (ONE foundation).

    If he was really that greedy he wouldn't spend ANY money other than on himself. He doesn't go out and make a big deal about what he is doing, so I think it is genuine.

    I feel so sad for these people who do so much good, only to be questioned by half the country for having the wrong motives. It's great what he did, and whether or not he had completely pure intentions is irrelevant.

    I personally think he is a douche. Until asked I was blissfully unaware of what he was doing with or for anybody. While I applaud even the Mafia's charitable giving, it still doesn't make him any less of a douche to me.

    I do what I can when I can. And I ain't saying that charitable giving is ever bad regardless of who is doing it. I'm just saying that ALL the charitable giving he does still doesn't make him any less of a douche, that's all.

    I don't really agree with the entire statement that most Pop stars are greedy. Most pop stars are very young and have not yet developed a sense of Civic Responsability. Justin has children and is on the older end of Popdom.
