Justin Timberlake Insists He Didn't Diss Britney: Did He or Didn't He?

Justin Timberlake made a triumphant return to the stage on Saturday with his first live show in five years, but an offhand bit of stage banter has got him into trouble.

The "Suit and Tie" singer was performing at a DirectTV Super Bowl-eve concert in New Orleans, performing songs from his upcoming record "The 20/20 Experience" as well as old favorites. Before launching into 2002 breakup classic "Cry Me a River" -- written after his breakup with pop legend Britney Spears -- Timberlake said "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one... But then one day you find out that she is just some b****." Ouch!



After the show, Timberlake took to Twitter to explain that he wasn't referring to Britney, saying "OK. I see you. Wouldn't disrespect ANYONE personally. Ever," before quoting her hit single "Gimme More" in a tweet that read "#Relax #ItsBritneyB**** I do love that saying though *with accent* #Respect." Do you think that Justin spoke carelessly?
