Justin Bieber Sued for $9 Million Over Hearing Loss: What's the Loudest Part of a Concert?

Justin Bieber is being sued by a woman for $9 million after getting hearing damage from his screaming fans at a concert. The disgruntled concert-goer claims that when Bieber flew over the crowd in a heart-shaped metal gondola (uh, really?), he was egging on the prepubescent shriekers.

The woman took it even further by saying "the gondola that Justin Bieber was suspended in acted as a sound conductor, creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both of my ears." Time will tell who is at fault here -- although we have a strong hunch we know who will win -- but in the meantime: What do you think is the loudest part of a concert?

ROLLINGSTONE.COM reports:
Justin Bieber has been hit with a 9 million lawsuit by an Oregon woman who says a screaming fan permanently damaged her hearing at one of the pop star's shows.

    Wow.. You go to a concert KNOWING there's going to be loud music and screaming, why in the hell would you not bring earplugs? -.-
    It's her own fault.

    And now I'm mad at myself for standing up for Bieber..

    In my opinion, it's stupid to go to a concert without earplugs. If it's too loud, pop 'em in, and problem solved.

    The speakers are so loud of course you can hear everything through the plugs. And if there ever was a soft concert (?) then you take them out.
    I said "it's stupid to go to a concert without earplugs". I didn't say you *had* to wear them. Use common sense and protect your ears.

    of course you can hear even if you're wearing earplugs, but the quality isn't the same! earplugs leads to muffle sound.

    p.e:
    with earplugs -> mono
    without earplugs-> Stereo

    It's a concert. Of course it's gonna be loud. I've been to battle of the bands before and they were pretty damn loud but I don't care. My hearing is largely bad.

    Major reason I dislike live concerts is the screaming fans. You want to hear the music not them. I won't buy CD recordings from live concerts either because of so much screaming.

    The entire concert is LOUD, what the hell did she expect? They need to take that lawsuit and throw it and her right out of the courtroom. She was at a CONCERT not a LIBRARY. Again I ask, what the hell did she expect. And don't ms-understand me, I am NOT a Justin Beiber fan at all, but I have always loved going to concerts and they have always been loud. Come on lady, we all would love to get rich quick, but you'll have to come up with a better way then that.

    Is this the dummy that tried to sue her fork for making her fat. Teenage heart-throb in concert and no ear protection? Put me on the jury. I might even vote for the plaintiff and award $1. That way, everyone wins.

    Someone is suing Justin Bieber? For loud music?

    I'm no JB fan, but the suit is STUPID.... and I hope the judge says a big ole "F/U GET OUT OF MY COURT ROOM"

    The suit... STUPID
    The attorney - just another "ambulance chaser"
    And the fan... another dumbass

    Concerts are loud, it's common logic. Justin Bieber has the money though and he doesn't have any talent so he can give the lady $9 million.

    concerts aren't supposed to be quiet, theie supposed to be loud. if you don't like loud music don't go to the show. and if you really like the singer that much don't sue them over some bull crap like "oh you damaged my hearing cause i decided to go to your show" people will sue over anything these days, people are greedy and obsessed with money to the point of no return.

    Concerts are loud. It's more than common knowledge. It's pretty much advertised. She needs to know that, unless the speakers did the damage, he isn't exactly at fault. He can't control the actions of the people around him. That's quite obvious to everyone there. There is nowhere that you can place blame on someone for people being crazed over them.

    Unless she can find other people who the same thing happened to, she has no case. There is no way that both her ears were damaged by the "sound conductor" a screaming fan, when there were plenty of other people around the "sound conductor" and screaming fans. Since it says that he flew over the crowd, there must have been plenty of opportunities.

    She could try to sue the fan, if it's that important to her, but I doubt it is since she is so obviously in this for the money only.
