Justin Bieber Reportedly Overheard Using Four-Letter Words on Plane: Spoiled Brat or Normal Teenager?

Justin Bieber, it seems, is not so innocent. The 18-year-old was returning from a promotional tour on a Air New Zealand flight last week when a spy overheard him "blurting out cuss words," TMZ reports.

The Biebs and his entourage were reportedly slinging four-letter words and "getting so loud" that a mother of two asked him to "stop yelling curse words and using that kind of language on a plane. It's not appropriate."

But cut Bieber some slack: a source tells TMZ he was embarrassed by his not-exactly-first-class behavior, and quickly apologized to the woman. Are you willing to overlook Bieber's potty mouth? Or do you think fame and fortune have gone to his head?

This is normal for typical teenagers. But the good this about it was he was embarrassed and he apologized. It would be bratty if he continued to use the language. Teens talk like this even when they don't have the kind of fame and stature he has, so I doubt that had anything to do with it.

I personally don't curse, but this is nothing out of the norm or any teen or adult.

I have sworn many times before, the problem is the location - I would only swear at school or with friends. He was swearing loudly in a public place with children around. That is unacceptable.

I haven't checked their comments yet... hopefully it's just a bunch of the extreme anti-Beiber crowd and not a bunch of people who think this is abnormal.

I am a teenager. I go to upper school with lots of Other teenagers. Most of us will swear occasionally in private to emphasise things. We do NOT sit in a public place with children around shouting swear words, that is rude and bratty. Are you sure the teenagers you know are normal?!

Yes, considering I go to a middle class public school. Though we don't use swear words that loud we do tend to swear quite a bit, and sometimes just a tad bit loudly. Ever heard some one call their night sh***y? Tell someone to F**k off? It happens. And sometimes you barely notice that you're getting a tad bit loud. He's Justin Bieber, on a plane, you don't think someone just exaggerated things since people actually pay attention to him? I know people who get admonished for their language in class easily enough, and to their credit they stop afterwards. Same thing. So like I said he's acting like a normal teenager, just with a lot of public attention.

I go to a middle class public school. I just said we do swear sometimes, but we don't swear constantly and loudly like this nipple was on a public aeroplane.

Not even once? It said he was embarassed over it, which means it probably isn't a completely common thing. Which means that they probably goofed off a bit and probably forgot their audience. Which is true. You're with friends, someone says a crude joke and people join in. You forget that yes its inappropriate. Then you stop. In other words, normal. Restaurants, classrooms, aeroplanes, it happens. If he kept cussing he'd be spoiled. He stopped, probably forgot where he was. so I call it normal.

Why Would he do it in the first place - he shouldn't need to be told off, he should know not to do things like that. What he did is not normal but rude. In a public place with children around, we would never do something like that. Perhaps it's a North American thing if it's normal over there, but here, people who do things like that are looked down on.

It happens, everywhere. IAnd yes even in America. Its looked down on here as well but it still happens. Are you telling me that you've never seen that done by anyone our age even once? Ever? Completely? In the streets, sometimes in restaurants, not even once?

Not in family areas. I'm interested as to why your view of teenagers is so pessimistic.
  • Arianne Anonymo... 2012/08/22 04:55:48

I'm not pessimistic. I'm realistic and just a tad bit cynical. All I meant to say is that it happens sometimes, and seriously it was a one off thing for the guy.

I'm more concerned that I debated someone over Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber. I HATE his music.

It was a one off thing, but an 18 year old should know better, especially a role model. I agree, I hope he loses support from this, wipe the smirk off his petulant face...

He is 18-years old and cussing is typical for teenagers especially when they reach high school. It is normal for teenagers to cuss these days. I started cussing when I started middle school. Yes, it was rude that he cussed, but he apologized at least.

At High School, you would be actually shocked to get through even one conversation without at least one four letter word (especially talking to boys.) Even our teachers occasionally let one slip.

Not quite a normal teenager... but it's normal teenage behaviour, yes. He should be on his best behaviour in public, but give the poor guy a break (as much as I dislike him). A thought: can you really be called a spoiled brat when you earned every penny yourself?

Four letter words? Oh my word!!! someone call the police! Alert the media! Call the PC society for the prevention of freely expressed anything and put him in therapy. It may be too late to save the little darling.
