Photos of music industry superstar Justin Bieber have surfaced, featuring him smoking marijuana. Those photos put Bieber in an awkward spot because many young people are not only fans of his, but look up to him. To Bieber's credit, he realizes the negative press he could receive, as well as backlash from fans. He released a statement via his official Twitter account (@JustinBieber).
"Every day growing and learning," Bieber tweeted. "Trying to be better. You get knocked down, you get back up." The last few months haven't been good for Bieber. A paparazzo following him got killed after being struck by a car, but not before he reported that he saw Bieber smoking marijuana. Bieber also broke up with long-time girlfriend Selena Gomez and was heavily criticized for posing with the Canadian Prime Minister in overalls.
It is unknown if this latest controversy will continue to grow or simply fade over time, but Bieber being proactive by addressing it on Twitter only helps his cause and image. Marijuana has been legalized in a few states, mostly for medical purposes, but remains illegal in many parts of the United States and Canada.

Maybe it'll be a wake up call to parents who let their little 10 year old girls worship their Bieber shrines every night before they go to sleep that maybe it's not such a great idea to give their kid everything bieberesque and to not let them put him up on such a high pedestal.
