It isn't "growing up" if he didn't actually get the sh*t kicked out of him. If anything it seems to me that he's trying a little too hard to convince people of his heterosexuality.

it should read NOTHING will change - you missed the H out. His transition to 'Manhood' will not affect his career, but growing up, or at least becoming wiser, can only be a good thing. I think packing in the fake violence would be a good start, but he is obviously not wise enough to have done that yet - very sad really - he needs to live with an 'ordinary' family, or at least, poorer, to get some perspective on what actually life is about, rather than wait until his popularity declines to where his finances are low enough to make it an everyday thing for him. Manhood is a tricky thing - you will become a 'man' over a few years, and not anything but hormones can prevent that, so manhood is a given, but becoming a worthwhile gentleman is another thing altogether, and is not so valued, although to be one is a priceless improvement

We've seen it time and time again. Stars start to grow up, and John Q. Public wonders if it will "hurt or help their image." How about this: It will be a new image. People grow up, hit puberty and change. I guess only time will tell.
